We’re booked for Dec but if we’re still in lockdown then will be unable to go.

Temporarything · 05/11/2020 05:05

Also why are some posters getting so irate? We booked to go prior to lockdown. Travel was allowed then.

I’m not a fan of CP but the kids love it so we booked it for them really.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 05/11/2020 05:19

No just because you can only go to the pool for 2 hours per day.

Temporarything · 05/11/2020 05:27

2 hours is easily enough for me tbh.

jessstan1 · 05/11/2020 06:20

No, far too cold and too many restrictions. I wouldn't go away anywhere right now.

CKBJ · 05/11/2020 06:29

Went in the summer (week weather wasn’t great) had a great time! Everything so organised and felt very safe. The 2 2 hour swimming slots gave us plenty of time, less people in them more time on flumes etc and only one family group in hot tubs, we preferred it. Managed to do all activities we wanted just planned carefully and got a table in restaurants where the covid measures were so more stringent than back at home. Only negative was the late/early checkout but you are warned. Op hope you get to go and have a great time too!

reefedsail · 05/11/2020 06:30

We were booked for end of December but I've moved the booking to right back into next year and plan to move it to next Christmas once they release the 2021 dates.

I think it will be difficult to get booked onto activities because they are running smaller groups and it won't be possible to replace lost activity time with more swimming time. I'd happily accept that if it were a cheap holiday, but at the price it is, I want absolutely everything available. We go for the activities because it works really well for only-child DS. The woodland isn't the appeal for us as we live pretty rurally anyway.

TheWindOnTheMoon · 05/11/2020 07:21

Love Center Parcs and really miss not going this year but you couldn't pay me to go there right now. Waiting it out to see where we are next year.

Summergarden · 05/11/2020 07:26

We went recently and enjoyed it but it was a lot busier than we expected.

They were trialling a third slot in the pool for midweek stays so perhaps why but honestly the poolS and all the walking routes between them seemed crowded and difficult to social distance. I wished they’d kept it to 2 pool sessions vs 3.

sanityisamyth · 05/11/2020 07:27

I'm waiting on a house sale nearly 5 years so far to be able to afford to go to Center Parcs this December!! We go every year for my son's birthday and I'm praying that this year is no different!

Roselilly36 · 05/11/2020 07:31

We have had past trips to CP and really enjoyed them, but now with the restrictions in place, it wouldn’t make for a good holiday IMHO. We made a decision that we would book any holidays until the pandemic was over. Total waste of time & money, we would rather be at home.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 05/11/2020 07:52

No, too cold to enjoy most of the outdoor activities and I certainly wouldn’t want to be mixing inside plus the more people travel and mix the more the virus can spread. We aren’t entertaining the idea of a holiday until it’s well under control.

Viv0321 · 05/11/2020 12:55

There are outdoor Christmas activities, so thought it would be ok as not indoors.

We went to the winter wonderland in December last year and did loads of outdoor activities. In fact apart from swimming I don’t think we did any indoor ones.
goosehoose · 05/11/2020 13:07

I considered it but decided not to book as I was expecting a lockdown, and I'm not convinced this one will be over in a month. Not worried about the safety but just concerned about trying to get our money back if we're forced to cancel. We went to the splash park at Alton Towers a few weeks ago and it was lovely.

Thanks all
