Would you go to centre parcs this December?

OP posts:
Lifestooshort1542 · 04/11/2020 21:35

Yes, we are due to go for winter wonderland mid December hoping we still get to go.
We are happy to get away as a family and do plenty of woodland walks and outdoor activities with games in our lodge in the evenings 😊

Hoppinggreen · 04/11/2020 21:36

No but I bloody loathe the place anyway

Fizbosshoes · 04/11/2020 21:36

I would probably not go to centre parcs at any time as it seems expensive compared to other accomodation.that being said I would be cautious about booking any sort of holiday or break at the moment , when even if they dont extend the lockdown,i imagine there will be restrictions in place.

Coasterfan · 04/11/2020 21:41

No but only because I m sick of stuff being cancelled and being disappointed, I don’t think December plans will go ahead now but that is just my opinion, I think we will be under restrictions until spring. Our center parcs (sherwood Forest) closed as soon as we went to tier 3. From a safety/fun point of view I would go though!

HairyToity · 04/11/2020 21:45

I wouldn't. DH has type 1 diabetes and we are being very cautious. However, a friend just got back today from Whinfell Forest today and had a fabulous holiday. It depends how risk averse you are.

IdblowJonSnow · 04/11/2020 21:55

Hmm, only if I'd already paid and couldn't get the money back. It's a bit too nippy to only do the outside stuff and I dont know how keen I'd be on the pool bit.
Plus, do people not just find it overpriced and overrated?

Purpler5 · 04/11/2020 21:57

No, it’s expensive and a breeding place for germs.

donquixotedelamancha · 04/11/2020 22:07

It's like going on a self-catering holiday but with the added fun of crowds, bossy rules, terrible parking, chain restaurants and paying a fortune for a glorified static caravan.

peanutbutterandfluff · 04/11/2020 22:07

YES! I was booked this month. I wish I could go next month. Was so looking forward to it.

CoffeeAndCake3 · 04/11/2020 22:09

No I don't think so, unnecessary risk imo

KitKatastrophe · 04/11/2020 22:12

No. I'm not concerned about the virus but the main reason we go is the swimming plaza and you're limited to two, 2 hour sessions, for the whole of your break which is pretty crap to be honest.
Maybe if they heavily discounted to make up for this, or offered other activities at a discount, but I doubt it

JackHam · 04/11/2020 22:13

Yes I would.
We went last week and had a great time. Activities were less busy than usual, as was the pool.
It was extremely well organised and clean.
We didn't eat out there though and instead took a Gusto / Hello Fresh type box with us with easy to make meals.

Firebird83 · 04/11/2020 22:13

We are supposed to be going in January. Not sure if it will go ahead now, or if we want to go anymore.

AnnaSW1 · 04/11/2020 22:20

We are booked to go in December (if it reopens) we won't risk the pool though.

maverickallthetime · 04/11/2020 22:29

Nope. Bloody ridiculous price and only 2 x 2hrs in the pool. Waste of money

ktp100 · 04/11/2020 22:39

No.

From what I've heard it's not Center Parcs as we know it anyway. I can't imagine no activities and only being allowed to swim for a maximum of 2 hours twice in a week!!

There's also that whole issue of doing the right thing and staying at home, OP.

Ignoringequally · 04/11/2020 22:48

I’m sure the OP will do the ‘right thing’ while we are in lockdown. Once things have reopened, why is not going to them ‘doing the right thing’?

Chelsea567 · 04/11/2020 22:48

No because it will probably be shut

Ignoringequally · 04/11/2020 22:49

Plus, do people not just find it overpriced and overrated?

Well no, if I did then I wouldn’t have gone back after the first time.

TheGreatWave · 04/11/2020 23:41

I would go on holiday, but not CP as you pay a premium for what will end up as a budget holiday.

pistolknight · 05/11/2020 00:00

Only if I wanted bum sex

Fauvist · 05/11/2020 00:21

I wouldn't go to Centre Parcs under any circumstances, tbh. But if you like it, I'd recommend waiting until the spring if you don't want to be disappointed.

MarmiteCrumpet25 · 05/11/2020 00:22

We are bookevto go next month. We will wait snd see Hester the time as CP are being very flexible re cancellation/rebooking.

TheSunIsStillShining · 05/11/2020 00:50

For the life of me I will never understand why it is so important to go somewhere in a middle of a pandemic? Do people really want this to be more prolonged than needed? Or are they this selfish or idiotic?

GlowingOrb · 05/11/2020 00:57

No

We owe our dd a trip as a reward and she understands it can’t happen before a Covid vaccine or similar end to the pandemic.
