Do you let your dc play in play parks, or do you think it’s too risky?

I'm fine with it.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/10/2020 16:31

Yes, I let DS play in the park.

KenDoddsDad · 22/10/2020 16:32

I think there’s a greater risk of them falling off the play equipment and breaking a bone tbh.

LarryUnderwood · 22/10/2020 16:32

Yes, I'm fine with it. I make sure they use anti bac when we leave and wash their hands as soon as we get in.

nomorespaghetti · 22/10/2020 16:33

It’s all we do at the moment!

MarshaBradyo · 22/10/2020 16:34

Yes definitely need to do stuff, including parks, every day

Triangularbubble · 22/10/2020 16:34

We’ve been back at the playground since July 4th. They go to school, playground risk is tiny in comparison. We wash hands when we get home, otherwise no special cleaning/wiping.

juglover2008 · 22/10/2020 16:35

We avoid one park as it get very busy but we do vist the quiter park

CycleWoman · 22/10/2020 16:35

Mine have been in the play park since they opened again and took daily exercise in the park (social distancing et etc) during lockdown.

Wash hands before and after.

SqidgeBum · 22/10/2020 16:36

Dd is nearly 2. She goes to the playpark a lot. The risk is minimal compared to the benefit of being an active child outdoors.

InDubiousBattle · 22/10/2020 16:37

Yes we do, we've done everything we've been allowed to do as soon as we've been allowed to do it.

emptyplinth · 22/10/2020 16:39

Yes I do.

Rabbitholebonkers · 22/10/2020 16:39

Yes, absolutely. Out of all the things I missed during lockdown it was playgrounds. Seeing them all taped up made me realise just how much I had taken them for granted.

Twickerhun · 22/10/2020 16:41

Yes I definitely do! They still need to let off steam, have fun and learn skills like balance the benefits of play outside still outweighs the risks.

LittleMissLockdown · 22/10/2020 16:42

Absolutely 100%. There is literally nothing else open around here suitable for a 10 month old who is just starting to try and toddle.

If we didn't go and play on the swings and slides then there would be nothing at all to do.

Yes. We don't really take the kids anywhere else tbh. My daughter nearly always see's someone she knows from school there, so plays with other kids too. I'm ok with pretty much anything outdoors but have avoided everything indoors.

Lolly34h · 22/10/2020 16:45

Ours are sadly still padlocked Sad so I avoid the parks as my little one who is 2 doesn't understand why they are all locked up. The gates and the swings are all padlocked so can't be used at all

Juniperandrage · 22/10/2020 16:46

I do worry about the risk but there's nothing else to do really so we do go.

LittleMissLockdown · 22/10/2020 16:47

Oh wow that's awful, where do you live? Sad
Castiel07 · 22/10/2020 16:49

A lot of ours are locked as well, and we are in tier 1!

yawnsvillex · 22/10/2020 16:51

With a padded suit and a helmet. Totally fine.

timeforawine · 22/10/2020 16:53

Yep and the play equipment in the pub garden

PlugUgly1980 · 22/10/2020 16:54

Yes, unless it's really busy and we can't social distance from other families. I don't had any issue with them touching equipment etc and if they're playing with children from within their school bubble that's ok, but if it's busy with lots of children we don't know then they know we won't go in as we can't social distance.

Fleura · 22/10/2020 16:56

No, we don’t. We have a handful of times but otherwise we’re avoiding them. It’s really hard especially when we’re in the minority so meeting up with friends when there is one nearby is basically impossible 😫
