I live in West Yorkshire and looks as though we’re staying in tier 2 as of now. Our rates are apparently dropping.
I’m constantly on twitter checking up.
Is anyone else struggling mentally with the almost daily changes to our situation? We’ve been in some kind of restrictions since July!

Yes, I'm finding the changes tough, particularly as we have a holiday booked for half term. Looks like we're good to go now though if we're not moving to tier 3.

I’m in W Yorks too. I’m getting fed up of the constant flux of our lives. No certainty, feeling like you can’t even plan a UK break, constantly on edge about changes.

DD is isolating til next week as nursery had a positive case on one of the days she was in. So I’m back to WFH which my boss isn’t too happy about. It’s out of my hands. But I am hearing about more cases close to us now.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that we can get a vaccine approved and rolled out by early next year.

I am WY. I have read conflicting reports but my guess - though I hope I am wrong - is that BJ will wheel out one of his 'independent' 'scientists' to tell us all how bad it is in our area in a similar way he did for Manchester, then announce we are going T3 a day or so later.
I think at the moment the government is talking behind the scenes to leaders in regions such as Yorkshire to try agree a deal on how much they will get.
At BJ's press conference there will be vague suggestion that it is for two weeks, albeit with the caveat that they will 'review things' at some later date. If BJ is pressed on time-frame issues, he will ignore the journo and answer a different question.
This is no way to run a country.

As far as I’ve read cases are falling here. So let’s hope it continues.

I'm in West Yorkshire too, and trying to stay positive. Fingers crossed

South Yorkshire have gone into T3 so feeling very lucky that we in West Yorkshire have escaped it, although only for this week I think?

I am in an area that has been under additional restrictions for ages. I’m finally back in a good exercise routine and I’d be loath to go back into being unable to go to classes and gym.

Leeds dropped slightly yesterday but, for the same day numbers per 100,000, Bradford, Wakefield, Calderdale and Kirklees are all went up I'm afraid.

I’m in Bradford, this link is to our local rag and it may be that I’ve not read it thoroughly enough but this seemed to imply we remain in T2 this week... to be reviewed?

I think they’re all being reviewed regularly.

Fellow WY here, I'm really hoping we don't go tier 3, but I really think we're gonna get thrown in without much rationale.
I'm just trying to do what I can by visiting local shops, pubs and cafes (still unsure if cafes would shut down) to try support them whilst I can.

I'm in Bradford. They can stick us in tier 3 for all i care, I'm struggling to see how anything will change. We've been in local lockdown since June yet numbers continue to rise. I'm fucking sick of it, been sticking to the rules and am just bored of it all now.

Does anyone think we’ll be put in over the weekend? I’m seeing a friend who I haven’t seen in months on Sunday and I’ll be gutted if we can’t meet (seeing each other outdoors). They’re having family problems and a recent bereavement so really need to meet up.

Annoyingly I live in a really rural area of West Yorkshire, I feel like it’s unfair we’ll all be lumped in together.

West Yorkshire here, but only 1 mile from the border with South Yorkshire (and about 5 miles from the border with North Yorkshire). Presumably the virus is more prevalent 5 minutes up the road...

I’m also at the boarders of south/north/west I really hope they don’t lock us down as school hols have just begun and I really want to go to the east coast!!

On 1 report our numbers are up then down on another! it’s hard to keep track.

one thing I can’t ignore though is during the first lock down I was one of those people thinking I don’t know anyone who actually knows anyone who has had it. Now I do know people and am hearing of others who have got/had it, not from my town, I’m WFH at min but office is in Leeds so hearing of people through work, it does feel closer to home this time. Maybe they should lock us down. God I wish it would just bugger off!!

I'm sure when the new tiers were announced, tier 3 meant you couldn't meet up outside with other households. Maybe I am getting confused with the local restrictions Kirklees has been under .

There's not that much difference in terms of what you can do/who you can meet between Tier 2 and 3. The main change seems to be businesses closing in Tier 3.

High (Tier 2) - Households must not mix indoors in any setting including pubs and restaurants. Rule of six applies outdoors

Very high (Tier 3) - Households must not mix indoors, or in private gardens. Rule of six applies in outdoor spaces including parks. Pubs and bars which don't serve meals will be closed.

Anymore update on West Yorkshire ? I saw Nottingham is now tier 3, no more update on W Yorks.

Still tier 2 for now 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m in Kirklees, cases are still going up here so I don’t think it’ll be long to be honest!
