DS has a temp of 38.6. No cough and obviously we don't know if he's lost his taste of smell. He's sleepy and grumpy and just not himself. He won't take any calpol because it keeps making him throw up.

The drs won't see him until his results come back and the hospital seems a little extreme. The GP on the phone said that he "didn't sound ill enough" because he was whinging in the background while I was on the phone.

I know we're luck to have been able to get a test but are results even reliable at this age? My poor boy. I feel like he would have been seen with that temp if it wasn't for this bloody virus?

The doctor said we could mix this antibiotic with food so we've mixed it with a bit of banana and he's taking it fine which is a relief.

That’s good. You could try ice lollies if his throat is sore.

I’m glad the doctor saw you @Mylittlesandwich - I always say trust your instincts with illness. However, I also say brace yourself for a barrage of illness as your little one heads into toddlerhood 🙈 the first winter in nursery was rediculous for illness! My little girl was ill every 5 minutes. Colds, coughs, infections, chicken pox, hand/foot/mouth .. 😩 it gets better though, she’s 3 now & doesn’t get half as ill! It’s a rough time but it is good for their immune systems in the long run!

Absolutely, I expected him to pick things up when he started nursery. I didn't expect a global pandemic which I can admit is making me a little anxious. Now that we've been able to give him paracetamol and bring his temperature down a bit he seems a bit brighter. Still sleepy but more responsive to us when he's awake.

We have some ice lolly moulds in the freezer, some with yoghurt and some just with water to see if he fancies any of those. He hasn't been sick yet today either which is an improvement.
