Took test in London on Monday at 12:00pm, still no results. How long have people waited so far?

Yup smell, I know of 3 people (2 teachers and a student) who never got results back (we are at 8 days) so those two teachers have been not teaching kids in their classrooms all that time....

booearing · 04/10/2020 08:57

My son got a negative result at 11pm last night.
so about 36 hours for us to wait.

mygrandadsvest · 04/10/2020 09:16

Took DD1 for a drive thru test yesterday at 2.30 (Southend) - told results should 24-48 hours.

DD2 had a home test last month and we waited 54 hours for the results so hoping capacity has increased and we will receive negative result before 8am tomorrow so I can go to work (DD1 really isn't well so won't be at school regardless!)

Home test posted Friday morning, results back Saturday teatime. I’m in London but the test travelled to the northwest for analysis

RigaBalsam · 04/10/2020 09:44

Tested yesterday at 2pm yesterday. Had results before 9am today. Rapid.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 04/10/2020 09:46

We did drive-through testing last week on Tuesday. Mine and DD's came through exactly 24 hours later, DH and DS's arrived at 6:20am the next day.

mygrandadsvest · 04/10/2020 09:46

@RigaBalsam drive thru, walk in or home test? I think drive-thrus might be quicker for some reason?

RigaBalsam · 04/10/2020 10:06

It was a drive through.

Fiddlersgreen · 04/10/2020 14:44

What happens if you don’t get the results back within your 10 day isolation period?

mygrandadsvest · 04/10/2020 14:58

@Fiddlersgreen your isolation ends after ten days or a negative test result, whichever comes sooner. Your household will still have to continue their 14 day isolation.

Fiddlersgreen · 04/10/2020 15:02

@mygrandadsvest even if you still have symptoms?

mygrandadsvest · 04/10/2020 15:04

No, if you still have symptoms after 10 days and haven't had test results I'd be retesting!

covetingthepreciousthings · 04/10/2020 15:59

I think if you still have a fever you don't end isolation.. I think a lot of places say 48hours after fever ends. Think a cough is different as a cough can last quite a few weeks anyway.

Smellbellina · 04/10/2020 17:54

@Piggywaspushed I’m a teacher too, it’s driving me mad, I can’t even chase results with 119!

Piggywaspushed · 04/10/2020 19:19

No, they tell you to eff off basically!!

mygrandadsvest · 04/10/2020 19:27

Still no results here. Resigned to DH and I taking another day off work - that's just over £400 lost for one day. We already lost £800 last month isolating while we waited for DD2's test - she had a cold but school insisted upon it.

mygrandadsvest · 05/10/2020 07:07

Nothing overnight- we're at 40 hours now so will hopefully receive today but the waiting is so frustrating as is the financial impact; DD1 is old enough to look after herself so if we were so inclined we'd still be going to work today rather than losing money- the government need to fix this, it should be a choice between lose money or break the rules!

Fiddlersgreen · 05/10/2020 08:07

It’s terrible isn’t it? People can’t afford to just keep taking time off this way and I can’t see many in your situation, where the person with symptoms doesn’t need looking after, going to work whilst awaiting test results

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 05/10/2020 08:10

DS and DH got tested at 9.30am yesterday and had texted results by 6pm yesterday, so, like 8 hours? We are in Scotland though, less dense population and our city has been great with testing. They said if not back in 72 hours to ring, so you should ring them.
