How many cases per 100,000 in your area?

Florabella · 27/09/2020 17:44

I have become slightly obsessed about checking the figures in my area each day. We have 7 per 100,000 which I think is pretty low. What are the numbers where you live?

Current projections on local bbc news estimate cases here are now over 1000 per 100k.

  1. Yet here my council is, begging for us to be put in Tier 2.
wonkylegs · 14/10/2020 14:54

197 in our area
But the adjacent counties which are literally down the road (right on boundary) are 304 and 313

wonkylegs · 14/10/2020 14:59

@IndecentFeminist Liverpool (635) and Nottingham (880) are both higher than Manchester (449)

ChasingRainbows19 · 14/10/2020 15:00

The ‘low’ numbers people are quoting are sometimes much higher than when Greater Manchester was in local lockdown in July/August. Now classed as low and not worryingHmm many are even higher than when Bolton had to close everything.

They steadily went upwards despite the extra restrictions and now have rose massively since September/October.

  1. We’re driving the economy off a cliff because 70 people out of 100,000 (0.07%) in my area have Covid.

carolebaskinfedhimtothetigers · 16/10/2020 08:11

165 and looks like we are headed for tier 3 (Lancashire)

HappyDinosaur · 16/10/2020 08:13

Gone from 6 at the end of September to 46 now, still really quite low but rising.

Dementedswan · 16/10/2020 09:25

Does anyone know the criteria for tier levels? Seems very inconsistent.

Egghead68 · 16/10/2020 10:36

656 today (Covid symptom study)

Redcrayons · 16/10/2020 12:15

@Dementedswan there aren’t any official limits.
In Liverpool it seems rising hospital admissions and the city hospitals reaching capacity over the weekend triggered tier 3.

fussychica · 16/10/2020 16:59

10 on the 28th Sept now 53 up to 15th Oct. Wiltshire. So low but rising.
