Loads more ambulance sirens or is it my imagination?

I feel like over the last couple of weeks I've been hearing more and more sirens, it was like that in march as well. I don't know if its related to covid or just my imagination (although I'm not especially anxious about it). I am in an area with higher numbers.

Anyone else noticed this?

My partner and I live in a city centre and have certainly been hearing more sirens than usual.

I don’t think sirens are an accurate way to measure a virus.

However we have no covid patients in our local hosp so not related to that.

No, and we live near a large acute hospital.

Nope, a lot of fire engines though.

I've heard at more. Definitely in the past week.

That said I didn't hear the ambulance sent to (unsuccessfully) resuscitate my mum on Monday. That was fuck all to do with Covid

We live off a road which leads to two large London hospitals and it has been no different to usual.

Also, I don't imagine that most Covid-19 patients admitted would be blue-lighted.

No different here in Stoke. Live next to a busy dual carriageway as well.

No. None more than usual.

Anxiety (I don’t mean that to be patronising) I live a stone throw away from the biggest hospital in scotland and during lockdown I was a wreck. All I could hear were ambulances constantly and I was so distressed imagining them all being Covid patients rushed into ventilators that were running out.

Wasn’t the case. And there must be as many ambulances any other time but I was acutely aware of them in those weeks because of the news and the anxiety.

No more than usually here. Also it's extremely unlikely ambulances are being sent for covid patients. Most that end up in icu, are admitted after being admitted to a normal 'covid ward'

Not heard any more than usual and the local ambulance service were able to provide an ambulance for standby duties at a unplanned friendly 'elite' sporting event at short notice this week so clearly not too stretched.

I don' t feel anxious at all, it probably is just confirmation bias.

Said the same to my DH the other day, it was something we noticed last time. It probably depends how close to a hospital you are etc.

Nope. We live just off a main road that's often used by emergency services and I've not noticed anything.

I've heard more

I’m on a main road in a city with the hospital very close by and I’ve not noticed any more than usual and the blue lights flash into my living and bedroom so difficult to miss.
