No, everything is just so much hassle at the moment I’d just rather stay home.

zafferana · 26/09/2020 09:41

Yes. Why not?

BrazenlyDefying · 26/09/2020 09:46

Yes, we've booked to go away in a fortnight and we're really looking forward to it.

Houseplantmad · 26/09/2020 09:54

I'd check the local stats first and if they're rising then no. Our half term break has been cancelled as the part of Wales we were off to has been locked down.

Chocoqueen · 26/09/2020 10:02

Yes, we're due to go away for the week next Saturday and I can't wait.

IrenetheQuaint · 26/09/2020 10:03

Yes, in fact I am at this moment

hilbil21 · 26/09/2020 10:04

Yes absolutely

SengaMac · 26/09/2020 10:04

No chance.

Chewbecca · 26/09/2020 10:05

Yes. Hospitality sector needs our ££.

HelloMissus · 26/09/2020 10:06

I was in a seaside resort recently for work and it was rammed with the elderly and the disabled.
We saw a coach pull up at a fish and chip shop Grin.

Honestly, if this group are happy to holiday why shouldn’t everyone else?

halcyondays · 26/09/2020 10:07

No.

superram · 26/09/2020 10:08

Yes

MummyPop00 · 26/09/2020 10:09

Yes, go for it.

Viv0321 · 26/09/2020 10:12

Thanks everyone.

Yes, we are staying in a caravan for a few nights next weekend.

JaJaDingDong · 26/09/2020 10:15

We are currently on a break. We had to cancel the first break we planned (NE England) as they went into lockdown a couple of days before we were due to go.
We have come to S Wales instead and have just been informed by our hotel that we need to leave before 6pm Sunday when the area goes into lockdown, as leisure stays will not be allowed, only business.

So no, I wouldn't plan a U.K. break at the moment. You can't predict that you'll actually be able to take it

bitheby · 26/09/2020 10:15

I'm going away for the weekend. It's not really a break as such as I have another reason for going but staying in a hotel in a seaside resort.

Mumblechum0 · 26/09/2020 10:20

We just got back from the Scillies which was lovely except that it was incredibly difficult to get a table for dinner or even a takeaway. The restaurants we did manage to get into had very very limited menus of fried stodge.also the locals are naturally super Covid conscious and had signs on their doors saying they were shielding.
Overall felt a bit like a holiday in a plague village in 1666, but fine on the beaches/countryside

Kittytheteapot · 26/09/2020 10:20

Just back from 2 weeks in Cornwall. We were very lucky with the weather, and spent the whole time taking long walks, surfing and cycling. Loads of people about but all out in the great outdoors so it didn't feel risky at all. In fact, it almost felt like a holiday from Covid except when we had to put masks on to enter a supermarket or cafe.

However, we are content to entertain ourselves in the countryside. If you want to sight see, eat out, sit in pubs, or be entertained, I don't think now would be a good time for a holiday.

HarrietOh · 26/09/2020 10:49

Yep. I’m in a local lockdown area and it’s allowed!

Viv0321 · 26/09/2020 11:27

Harriet. Are you in England?

OP posts:
Scarlettpixie · 26/09/2020 11:29

Yes but would avoid tourist hotspots.

Enterthedragons · 26/09/2020 11:30

Nope

CeeceeBloomingdale · 26/09/2020 11:32

Yes and I live in a lockdown area. You can still travel.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 26/09/2020 11:32

Yes, we were away last weekend and I wish it had been for longer
