No household mixing expected to be brought in by midnight to night by Leeds City council.

If your bins are collected by Leeds council you are in the zone.

Where did you hear that OP? I’m in Leeds so have been expecting it..

RedRumTheHorse · 25/09/2020 12:58

I'm listening to talk radio, LBC, and they had a report come on from Leeds.

London is also now on the Covid watch list. So is where Leeds was about 2 weeks ago.

I'm in Leeds too and have just heard this is happening. No mixing of households. Inc in gardens. Can mix in pubs / restaurants but not advised.

MrsGrindah · 25/09/2020 13:12

Just been on the BBC news. Yup..its coming

RepeatSwan · 25/09/2020 13:15

Sending everyone in Leeds best wishes.

London next week.

AuntieMarys · 25/09/2020 14:52

Can you go for a drive outside the area?

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 25/09/2020 15:06

You can leave the area and do pretty much what else you like within the law/guidelines. But you can't have others in your house other than for work reasons.

Shepherdspyreads · 25/09/2020 15:08

It says you can't mix with other households in houses or gardens even if they live outside Leeds

AuntieMarys · 25/09/2020 15:26

I'm happy not mixing! Just want to be able to walk!

FranKatzenjammer · 25/09/2020 15:31

I live in Leeds and I'm glad this has finally been brought in, although my own personal lockdown is much stricter than anything the government has imposed recently.

Chickenfingers · 25/09/2020 15:56

I'm from outside of Leeds and not in a restricted area, can I still mix households if I go into a Leeds restaurant with friends. I'm confused. Because how else could they inforce the no mixing in restaurants/bars. And if they are only doing 1 household in the city centre, that's going to kill the bars.

Blue1316 · 25/09/2020 16:49

I’m in Leeds too, so the rules are I can’t go to my parents house but they only advise not meeting them in the pub? If that’s the case I’ll still be letting the kids see grandparents if 6 people all from different households can still go out drinking together until 10pm.

RepeatSwan · 25/09/2020 16:52

Just be careful. I get why people feel frustrated but if kids are in school they really might be best not seeing gp s
clareykb · 25/09/2020 16:56

They look to be the same as the rules that came in last week in Tyneside so the illegal bit is going to people's houses the guidance is meeting in public x

HattonsMustard · 25/09/2020 17:01

It also covers just over the border into Wakefield as although WF postcode they come under Leeds council ie East and West Ardsley, Thorpe, Tingley, Lofthouse and Robin Hood.

Porcupineinwaiting · 25/09/2020 17:19

@Blue1316 it's up to you. But at the end of the day it's less about what other people do and more about the risk of transmission. In a city where the rate is rising and rising the chances of your children picking up the virus at school/nursery is increasing too.

RedRumTheHorse · 25/09/2020 17:23

@Blue1316 if they are able get your parents to babysit your children for an hour or two, as they are allowed to go into their house for childcare. You aren't though so you have to hand them over on the doorstep.

@RepeatSwan Blue1316 parents may be grandparents under 70 and still working including in a school or hospital.

Advice is not to mix outside your household in pubs etc either. Not law, but the advice is there for a reason.

AuntieMarys · 25/09/2020 17:34

Whats the expected length of restrictions? Or is that how long is a piece of string

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 25/09/2020 17:37

Who knows. Til everyone behaves themselves and the infection rates start to go down I would think.

Blue1316 · 25/09/2020 17:41

But mixing in pubs should also not be allowed not just advised against. That’s why people don’t follow the rules properly...on Saturday for the football there’ll be 6 people all from different households getting drunk in a pub together but I won’t be able to go sit outside in my parents / brothers / friends garden even at a social distance.

Ohhiiii · 25/09/2020 17:44

My mum lives in Leeds and I'm overdue having a baby. I don't know what to do about her visiting now as she was going to come a week after baby is born. She lives alone so could say I am her support bubble but I live 2 1/2 hours away and she has her parents near by. I've only seen her once this year. Urgh what do I do? I don't want her to go a long time without meeting my baby 😩.

RedRumTheHorse · 25/09/2020 17:49

@Ohhiiii who else do her parents have to look after them if she doesn't see them for 14 days?
