I not a crier. But I feel like sobbing at the state of the world.

OP posts:

TBH I’ve just had a cry in one of my customers garage. I’m hoping they don’t notice & ask if I’m ok because the floodgates will just open.

I’m completely exhausted with no respite on the horizon & just can’t see anything positive right now.

mrswhiplington · 25/09/2020 10:32

I'm on the verge constantly at the minute. My DH doesn't have much work on, we are taking DD to Uni tomorrow and I am on my final day of self-isolating for the second time because I work in a school that had another outbreak. The last few weeks have pushed me to the edge. I have to keep a smile on my face for DD, I don't want her to go but I know she has to. I am sat here looking at the packed bags and boxes and praying she is doing the right thing. Hopefully things will be OK for her. I don't have any other kids so will miss her terribly.Sad

I have been like this on and off since July. Was better the last couple of weeks but having a bad day today. Reading posts on here about people searching for loopholes, assuming guidance doesn't apply to them and even one now where ds tested positive and the dh has been out working. Makes me realise that this is not going to get any better as people simply aren't sticking to the guidelines. Very depressing.

middleager · 25/09/2020 10:37

I'm exhausted. Can't sleep as so worried about DCs' futures. Gcse years. School lasted one week before various classes sent home.

Our schools here are dropping every day - more than 100. Anybody who says they won't close clearly lives in an area that's escaped local.lockdowns and 8,000 students off!

PilatesPeach · 25/09/2020 10:44

It doesn't help with the government blaming us for not following the rules when the vast majority of us are despite personal and financial suffering as a result - every day I see photos of people in the papers just flouting the rules all crammed in together literally tons of them getting drunk etc spoiling it for the rest of us and pushing us likely into stricter measures.

Imonlydoingwhatican · 25/09/2020 10:50

Yes, constanly.

Not just for personal reasons but for everyone.

But i wont give in, we will get through it one way or another at some point.

Insanity. Are any of them actually even ill?
AdoreTheBeach · 25/09/2020 11:13

I used to cry just about every day back at the start. Every time there were photos on the tv of those who died, especially the nhs workers.

I used to get so anxious putting a mask in (started wearing them back in March) when I went food shopping and cry. Cry when I saw the empty shelves as so worried about everyone not getting what they needed.

It’s better now but still cry on the odd Occasion - Particularly the covid deniers or just plain selfish people refusing to follow guidelines or have nothing positive to do other than mock any attempts by government or other people trying to do things to help stop spread/minimise impact of the virus.

exponentiallygrowinggut · 25/09/2020 12:14

I cry every day. Just lost my elderly cat too, devastated. I am lucky if I can go 2 hours without crying.

RepeatSwan · 25/09/2020 13:06

I'm crying again today, it's not knowing what to do for the best about school.

I feel more overwhelmed than any point since it all kicked off.

Afibtomyboy · 25/09/2020 13:18

@JustOnewouldbenice

Yes. I cried yesterday it was awful Dh has been out of work as SE we barely manage anyway have been struggling paying as much as we can on bills Got served eviction proceedings yest Seems like the LA were just waiting for 20 sep to pass
In what grounds are you being evicted by your LA?
Afibtomyboy · 25/09/2020 13:20

@Beebityboo

I worked in a care home for the first time at the start of the year. I have a disability but had always wanted to do it so really really pushed myself and completely fell in love with the residents there. I don't have a big family and I just loved being with them every day. I had to leave just before lockdown because my disability made it too hard to do the job and had to homeschool. It felt like the right thing to do at the time. Within two weeks we lost eight residents to the virus, some of whom I really loved and cared for. I can't forgive myself for leaving but I had no idea how bad it would get. They were wonderful and they and their families deserved so much more. I'll never forget them or how they were treated by this government.

I had a breakdown at the end of March both physically and mentally and sometimes don't think I'll ever be happy again. I cry constantly and frequently fantasise about going to the local field and having a good scream.
Flowers for you OP and everyone here struggling. This place has been an absolute lifeline for me over the last six months.

How do you know that 8 elderly care home residents died of corona virus so early on when they weren’t testing back then?
middleager · 25/09/2020 13:20

Hester one had a confirmed case so 99 sent back.
I have a healthy 14 year old bored at home for 8 days...

LovelyWeekAway · 25/09/2020 13:49

Yes
The thought of a cold dark winter stuck at home alone with the kids all fighting and constantly bickering is making me very anxious.

Schools are open just now but I honestly think if they close I will need to get some form of anxiety medication for the first time in my life ever.
Feel constantly on edge and upset.

Trying to keep all the plates spinning on my own whilst worrying about what lies ahead.

Lockdown in the sun was bearable as we have a garden and could go out walks etc.

Cold windy rainy days are another matter.

I have to say I’m usually a very optimistic person, content and bumble along in life.
This is really dragging me down.

Beebityboo · 25/09/2020 13:53

@afibtomyboy My colleagues, who nursed them at the end, told me what happened. Are you accusing me of lying about something like that? Hmm

Afibtomyboy · 25/09/2020 14:02

No
But I’m highly skeptical that back in early March elderly residents in a care home were being tested. That wasn’t happening

Beebityboo · 25/09/2020 14:13

The staff were certain. It was at the end of March into April.

SantaClaritaDiet · 25/09/2020 14:15

LovelyWeekAway
if the schools close down, why not planning a completely different schedule?
Schooling very early morning and afternoon, leaving you mid-day for walks, bike rides etc. and make the most of the day light.

Normandy144 · 25/09/2020 14:23

Don't listen/read/watch the news. I'm actively avoiding it now and feeling so much better. I can say I've had a really good week. I can't recommend it highly enough!

bloodywhitecat · 25/09/2020 15:07

I would like to. We finally got the news today that coronavirus has played its part in delaying, DP has pancreatic cancer. Everything else feels trivial right now.

PineappleUpsideDownCake · 25/09/2020 15:54

Oh gosh I am so sorry bloodywhitecat. At one point my mother was v ill and they thought it was that (it wasnt, it happened to be "just " pancreatititis but she has other problems and they werent sure) so I have some understanding. But not the same . I am so sorry :(
