Roll out the vaccine now?

Testing is at a Phase III stage. There should be enough data to confirm efficacy and safety. I say fuck the normal red tape. This is a global catastrophe about to happen.

I'm not interested in having a vaccine until it's proved safe.
I am more worried about the vaccine than I am if Covid. (I am in a lowish risk group).

No thanks, without a thorough pilot we could/will end up with something much worse than Covid

I agree, also work in related clinical trial field. The vaccines seems to be based on existing vaccines so the safety and tolerability of the formula (apart from the SARS-CoV-2 bit) will be well known by now.

But isn't the SARS-CoV-2 bit the crucial, possibly new and unknown bit? And could that bit have a retrospective impact on a drug that has worked fine until it was added?

I’d participate in the trial, but no to rolling it out for everyone. If there were any issues, that could damage people’s trust in vaccines for years (on top of whatever problems the vaccine itself had).

re polio vaccine in 1955 - if I remember rightly there was a (large) batch that was contaminated (infection I think) saying that I had that vaccine a few years later at school (Salk? Sabin? which is the current one cant remember)

I agree OP. I'd say roll it out to adults who wish to have it. I'd take it!

It's really stupid to take it too soon. Would be a real fuck up if there are expensive side effects!
