Yes.

Paddingtonthebear · 13/09/2020 15:43

I haven’t seen my work colleagues for 6 months as we have to work from home since covid, so no it wouldn’t happen here

icedaisy · 13/09/2020 15:45

No because not allowed again here in Scotland. Well from tomorrow.

Ohyeahs · 13/09/2020 15:45

Yes

PlateTectonics · 13/09/2020 15:47

I don't really socialise with my colleagues outside work, but otherwise yes I would (in line with the current guidelines).

canigooutyet · 13/09/2020 15:48

If it was something you would usually do, then why not?

Mindymomo · 13/09/2020 15:50

If you are happy, in the uk, you can go out and have meal with up to 5 others. Personally though, like most of the population I think you will find that people are only going out with family.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 13/09/2020 15:50

we work together, not from home
so we would not be socially distanced during the meal?
that is the issue

SpeedofaSloth · 13/09/2020 15:52

No, I wouldn't.

NameChange84 · 13/09/2020 15:53

No. We are in a hotspot and we were Shielding as three of us are identified as extremely clinically vulnerable and decided to remain cautious. Have only ate out once since February and that was in a totally empty restaurant bar two staff members in PPE.

If no health problems or dependent vulnerable family members and in a place with low transmission rates, possibly. Though I think even then I’d prefer outdoors with social distancing between colleagues.

No. "In the UK" you cannot.
Tomatoesneedtoripen · 13/09/2020 15:54

3 of us are asthmatics so clinically vulnerable, one of us is shielding

OP posts:
Tomatoesneedtoripen · 13/09/2020 15:55

in the uK you cannot?

OP posts:
Igotmyholiday · 13/09/2020 15:55

I would and I have but we have all worked together throughout so can't see how a meal would put us at any higher a risk than sharing an office

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 13/09/2020 15:56

but working together is with distance?

OP posts:
Yankathebear · 13/09/2020 15:56

If shielding then no.

NameChange84 · 13/09/2020 15:56

In some parts of the U.K, you can’t and in some you can. Scotland, Wales, NÍ and England have different rules.

notacooldad · 13/09/2020 15:57

I'm working with them all day in intensive busy and pressurised 2 hours shifts. Going out for a meal with one of them is the least of my worries.

NameChange84 · 13/09/2020 15:58

Should probably say, I have been given permission to work from home this semester along with a few others so my decision is based on not seeing my colleagues in person.

If you have to share an office, I don’t see what difference eating a meal together would make.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 13/09/2020 16:00

@NameChange84
it wouldnt be so distanced

OP posts:
cherrypiepie · 13/09/2020 16:00

I wouldn't at the moment. Can't explain why. Are the rules no more than two households up to six people in total? I have lost track.

GetUpAgain · 13/09/2020 16:02

I have met colleagues outdoors and socially distanced, I would not sit next to them indoors for a meal. With numbers increasing I wouldn't even go and meet them outdoors now, they are nice people but I don't like them enough to take any risk with them!!!

Yankathebear · 13/09/2020 16:03

You don’t sound like you want to go?

I can’t always socially distance at work so I wouldn’t worry with meeting up with a colleague out of work. We are in closer proximity at work than we would be at lunch.

rookiemere · 13/09/2020 16:03

I went out for drinks outside with a small number of mine in the summer. I would say that if you meet the new guidelines- presumably you are in England - then up to 6 of you can. It is impossible to distance at a restaurant though with your table, but if you work closely with them anyway, then won't make much difference to your likelihood of infection.

Oblomov20 · 13/09/2020 16:04

Why would you not?
