Supposedly to make things simpler, it seems to me so many people will be deeply sadly impacted “the 6 rule” with little effect.

Effective would be to

 • close indoor pubs
 • close indoor restaurants
 • masks compulsory
 • WFH if you can
 • Secondary school Live online except for vulnerable, those without tech (teachers/pupils)

How will shutting pubs and restaurants help when contact tracing shows that most of the transmission is occurring at private social gatherings in people’s homes? Hence the rule change.
@only Trouble is with your arguments is that 100s of independent secondaries - and a few states - have already proven to do Live Secondary brilliantly. It is actually something we are world-beating at. Look at what Wycombe Abbey or Eton or Stamford or your local leading independent did and it proves wholly against your varying points.
Wow - really? Online learning was awful for my teens. My DD has just started year 11 and online learning would NOT work for her year at all. Online learning is better than nothing but it is not equal to learning at school I promise you that. I nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to help my kids through remote learning - it was awful.

userxx and now rules have changed, the argument that we should close schools so people can meet 7 people socially is disgusting

@OnlyFoolsnMothers I've not heard that, i really can't see people wanting that.
