N/C on this.

Chat with neighbour . On Sunday she went out for the day with 9 girlfriends. They car shared in 2 cars. All had a really good day she said. So much fun she said. My ds is at school with one of their kids same class bubble. Why do people do that? Cases in our area are going up. Local high school affected. I know it's none of my business but AngryAngryAngry.

@Lazypuppy it's a pity you have no clue what the government is doing, because it's affecting the quality of advice you give. The government's own funded research on antibodies now shows that not everyone gets them, and for many of those that do, they decline within 3 months. There has been speculation that maybe other forms of immunity kick in eg T cells, but the current medical position is that nobody yet knows whether this is the case.
So it is a bad thing, actually.

We definitely do not want people to catch this.
So many things...

  1. The death figures are calculated differently now. If someone dies within 28 days of a test they are counted. Which means all the people who test positive, get hospitalised a week later, then are on a ventilator for 4 weeks are not counted any more. Those longer deaths are not in single figures.

  1. A small percentage of tens of millions of people is a vast number of people who would die.

  1. Then there’s the long term side effects for some people. This virus is still unknown.

We would be insane to let it spread. It’s so depressing that some people are just carrying on as normal. I know it’s a long time to be careful, and some people have no option about being in risky environments with their jobs. But the rest of us can do our bit to keep things as safe as we can for as long as we can, to give space for cures and vaccines.

Reading some recent threads, I am having flashbacks to AIBU in February, when people were asking "Should I book a holiday?"

The sensible among us were saying, "I really wouldn't". There were huge numbers saying "I am going to keep living my life as normal."

Cue the country being totally seeded by people returning from ski trips in Italy.

We're right back to where we then all over again.

Follow the damn rules, keep the schools open.

Option 1. Live your life as wish and care not who will catch and be very ill or die..

Option 2. Get a sense of social responsibility to your fellow man.

It's that simple. Sadly far too many people only want to think about themselves.
