I'm worried I may have asymptomatic flu. Where can I get a test?

Just that really. Flu can be very dangerous and can lead to ME. I would hate to unknowingly pass it on.

Coffee and croissants the excess winter deaths that year was well above 15000. Not very much test test test either.

Goldenomber, but there are countries where they did stay open for other health services too. And they were not overwhelmed. We don't know what could have happened as we do not have a parallel universe to compare.

Yes - Taiwan, South Korea, lots of China (obviously not Wuhan right at the start of things).

We can’t know exactly how it would have played out here if we’d approached it differently, no. But we can take a look at the rest of the world and notice how other countries have managed it. The ones who approached it as “oh let’s not make a fuss it’s just like flu it’ll be fine” have not done nearly as well as the ones who took it more seriously.

personally I think if we’d treated it more seriously from the beginning here we’d have had a shorter (or non-existent) lockdown, fewer deaths, less damage to the economy and been a lot happier overall. But I’m guessing that would not have gone down well with people who feel that testing is a silly overreaction either.

@Treesofwood

The fact is we could have prevented flu transmission every year, and therefore saved lives by testing testing testing, practising social distancing and masking our children. Especially 2017/2018 which was a very high death rate year. Lots of asymptomatic flu carriers. Why didn't we? And before anyone mentions the vaccine,these deaths happened with it. It's a bit of a guessing game and in some years almost totally ineffective.
Because the death rate from Covid is significantly higher than the worse death rate for flu.

I understand the point you're trying to make OP, but unfortunately the facts don't support you. Sorry about that.

Goldenomber who said testing was an over reaction? My point is that it is being done to save lives. We can save lives by testing for flu too, but we don't. Even though people could be walking around spreading that asymptomatically too.
Titchy, I don't think you do. The general attitude is that we wear masks to save lives, self isolate to save lives, test to save lives. If this was the actual reason, we would not care if it was flu testing or covid. So how many lives saved are worth so many huge changes to our lives for? Who decides? How?

Goldenomber, yes, quarantining people from China and Italy would have been a good move in February. Quarantining people from ibiza now is ridiculous.
