My teeth have rotted away from my pregnancy and I've already had a tooth ripped out during this pandemic but now I've got a hole in my tooth right at the front and scratches my tongue whenever I move it.

Does anybody in the industry have any updates, all im seeing when I good it's still on hold.

Another dentist bashing thread yawn

I only have half a tooth, the rest was filled. Last time I saw dentist she said any more problems and I need a crown or removal as tooth has a deep crack below gum at front. Filling has come out so it's pretty sensitive
Receptionist told me the dentist would phone but it'd be weeks before I could be seen. Still waiting for a call a week later. I'm managing by swashing my tongue against it while eating/drinking cold food. Tried temp fillings from pharmacy but they come out within 24 hours. NHS.

It is different in different areas; after reading threads here I thought that I’d have no chance of getting seen when a tooth broke recently.

I was therefore pleasantly surprised when I called and was seen within a day, despite saying that I was in no pain.

They said they can only do a temporary fillings due to restrictions on not being able to use water or drills but said they used a substance that they sometimes use to do permanent fillings as my tooth had no decay, and that it should last indefinitely.

I had an appointment on 6 July (it might even have been 6 June - I can't remember now!). Private. For clean and check up. Was all as normal except they wore full on PPE and lots of hand wash etc.

So you should be able to get an appointment I would have thought?

Many dentists are seeing patients if needed. Not sure they are doing routine check ups but definitely emergency/essential apps! I know mine is anyway! But we did get our routine check ups cancelled.

So just an update, I'm in for a full filling tomorrow. I was really surprised. They're even letting me take my 6 month old because I have no childcare available for weeks.

I'm glad you're getting it sorted.

Glad you are getting it sorted.

My (private) dentist is only seeing emergencies and pre-booked treatment as far as I can tell. We have 4 overdue routine appointments, plus one (pre-paid) hygienist and I've not heard a sausage about re-booking.

Just trying to get through now as DD1 needs a referral to get on the orthodontist waiting list.
