... with added shouting at the back from people who want neither and are happy to shit on the floor.

specially made ones do a better job than 3 layer cloth.
Sales puff to get you to pay more.
I bought a pack of five disposables to wear only when absolutely necessary. Have only used one so far that sits on the bottom of my handbag and just put on for the minimum duration. Will probably see me out the pandemic, do money wasted on buying the rest of the pack.

I wouldn't say 'I doubt many people are washing masks'. I expect people aren't washing them as much as your 'supposed' to, but they are washing them. I use mine for a day or 2, sometimes a bit longer depending on how many times I've used it, put back in the sealy bag it came in and in my bag. Dp has started wearing the scarf type ones that are like a tube for work! He finds them easier than dust masks because you can just pull them up and down and the dust masks you have to faff about taking them on and off, so sometimes he doesn't put one on. So the cloth ones are better than nothing. I usually wash them everyday because they get dirty. I've sneezed in mine a few times and also they get make up on them. I definitely wouldn't wear the same one for the whole pandemic and never wash it! My mum has made some and she said she doesn't wash them as often as you should, but she does wash them.
