4 months of this bullshit already. I know I speak for everyone in the entire world when I say I’m fed up and just want complete normality back again.

I know this is all very uncertain and nobody will know what will happen, but they keep saying be prepared in case there is a second wave and that we need to be vigilant until there is a vaccine.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not sure I can live like this forever. They keep using the terms “the foreseeable future” and “the new normal” well I don’t want a new normal, I want normal back as it was before Covid.

What will we do if they can’t find a vaccine? Will we just live our lives stuck between lockdown and coming out of lockdown forever in case there are more peaks in infections?

I know Covid-19 is more than likely going to circulate like cold and flu does and there’s nothing we can do about that, but surely all this uncertainty and being restricted on what we can and can’t do will end? How can we actually social distance forever?

I just want them to say that lockdown is over and that the pandemic is now over Sad

it's easier to cope with pretty much rock bottom expectations this is what I was saying up thread, but it is pretty dreadful we are here. But I don't honestly see what else I can do, because I'll get more pissed off if I keep trying but not quite achieving things.

I can see how different people have different but equally sensible strategies to preserve their mental health.

I just want to know if we’ll be able to have all our families round at our houses on Christmas Day and to be able to sit down at the dining room table for a big Christmas Dinner. I’ll cross my fingers

You'll be 'able' but the question is will you personally think it the wise thing to do. I can't see me cramming indoors til next summer, even if Johnson thinks I can. But I have parents over 70.

@kitten
Me too the thought of social distancing for another year not sure if I would make it and I think 1000's feel like this. You will gave more deaths from suicide due to mental health/lost of business's etc which will be worse than the virus

I follow him too. He has been slated on mumsnet and I think he has a shady past but the articles and studies he posts on t cells are genuine and some are peer reviewes. Its fascinating and gives me hope

@Vintagevixen
I agree with you on T cells. There have been about 5 studies now from different countries that have found large% of people have cross reactive t cells. One was peer reviewed and published in Nature so not rubbish at all. I actually think its quite negligent if it isnt investigated quickly. This is having a huge impact on everyones lives and of theres even a chance it could be true they need to find out. It could turn out these cross reactive cells do nothing but we need to know. The elderly were protected during spanish flu and swine flu due to exposure to related flus so it is quite plausible there would be some degree of immunity given there are other coronaviruses in circulation
