It seems as though Mumsnet has calmed down since people were being told they were murderers a couple of months ago.

I’m cautious. I don’t know if CV is going away and things will return to the old normal or if it will come back with a vengeance in autumn.

I wasn't worried from the start.

DontWantToAdult · 09/07/2020 18:20

Was worried weeks before we locked down.

Still worried

Still shielding

frozendaisy · 09/07/2020 18:22

Cautious is just fine. We are taking sensible steps to do what we need to do, which includes some fun and social activities, but with caution.

Otherwise there will be an increasing R-rate and either locally or nationally another shutdown without the financial support. Which will be pants for all.

viccat · 09/07/2020 18:23

I would say cautious rather than worried.
I've stuck to the rules all along and apart from walks outdoors, not been anywhere since March. It's not much different from my old normal tbh because I work from home all the time and live alone, and used to shop online anyway. I never washed my shopping or worried about the virus floating in through the windows like some on here though. Grin

I'm still continuing my own lockdown and not going anywhere. While I understand the risk is low to me personally, I also don't want to take any risks unnecessarily. I do think the infection rate will go up again but hopefully we'll have a vaccine early next year at the latest...

Northernsoullover · 09/07/2020 18:26

I was utterly terrified at the beginning of lockdown because it was clear that Covid-19 was absolutely everywhere by then.
I've been keeping an eye on the stats and I'm just cautious now. That may well change if infections rise again. That said we know a lot more about it now. As in we know a little bit about it as opposed to nothing.

TeddyIsaHe · 09/07/2020 18:27

I was worried at the start - the not knowing etc and then seeing how fucking useless the govt have been in managing any of this.

Now there’s been no active cases in my Cory for 8 days, so a lot less worried. Still cautious about a second wave though.

TeddyIsaHe · 09/07/2020 18:27

In my city *

1990shopefulftm · 09/07/2020 18:29

Baby's due in October so I m still sticking to just going out for walks and appointments for a while.

SaigonSaigon · 09/07/2020 18:35

I was terrified at the start. I didn't leave the house even for a walk for about a month. After that was terrified going for a walk or out for another month or so. Now I'm cautious more than worried but as time has passed and rates have dropped I need to get back to a bit of normal so we have a holiday booked in the UK to look forward to and we've been following the rules and seen family and some friends. Really hoping we don't see another wave in the winter but who knows. I imagine it might be more local lockdowns than a national lockdown.

HereIamin2020 · 09/07/2020 18:35

Not worried but cautious. I have spent lots of time on the science due to work. And so I have set up a lifestyle that is sustainable but minimises risk which I will carry on through winter. Winter overall is likely to be tough.

We spend lots of time on walks, beaches etc. We will go for self catering holidays. I will not be going to any inside venues with other people apart from food shops occasionally. I wear a mask and am very careful with hand hygiene when I am there. So no museums, theatres, swimming pools, restaurants or bars. But maybe a zoo or gardens.

Deelish75 · 09/07/2020 18:46

Im feeling quite mixed at the moment.

On a personal note I've never been worried about the virus for myself or my DC. DP is in the vulnerable category but his GP has said he is fairly low risk from it as well.

My concern is more about the way life is changing as we are opening up, I don't like change and I worry about getting things wrong when I'm out and about. I've had mainly had shopping deliveries or C&C but on the odd occasion I've been into the supermarket I worry if I'm going the wrong way - getting better at that though. Swimming is my thing and whilst I've got no qualms about getting in the pool and swimming I am worrying about how it's going to be done - how will the social distancing work, am I going to have to book a swimming slot. I guess once I get into the swing of things I'll be fine - like I said I don't like change.

Looking further a field I am concerned about job losses and the economy. I've been a sahm for a few years and was hoping to find a job in September, but that is looking unlikely now. DP's job seems secure but you never know.

FluffyKittensinabasket · 09/07/2020 18:55

Autumn \ Winter will be interesting...millions or people self isolating with colds and flu.

I do think we will see a resurgence. Especially as people begin to fly into UK again, bringing it with them.

Like others I wasnt worried from the start

Louise544809 · 09/07/2020 18:59

Petrified at start still worried but not the virus mental health /my parents and economy

WinterAndRoughWeather · 09/07/2020 19:00

Wasn’t worried then, not worried now, except about the economy and redundancies.

There are effective treatments now, very few are going into ICU.

FluffyKittensinabasket · 09/07/2020 19:01

Mumsnet is certainly a much calmer and nicer place than it was a couple of months ago.

OP posts:
Scottishgirl85 · 09/07/2020 19:01

Nope, it's just one of the many risks in life. Common sense is all it needs.

motherrunner · 09/07/2020 19:07

Yes. I’m a teacher and the thought of being in a small, poorly ventilated room with 32 students 5 times a day without PPE worries me.

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/07/2020 19:13

Still cautious, work in a care home. So far we had no cases and nor do we.

Lua · 09/07/2020 19:20

by "worried", do you mean concerned? Of course. Nothing has really changed, the virus is still kicking around, and all it will take is some fuel to roar back (as you can see in many places). I choose to stay out of the fray and deny fuel to it as much as possible.

but if you mean, am I worried I am going to die? No. Never been.

I have been, and continue to be, worried about many friends and family members' well being. I am particulalrly concerned for BAME members of the public that experience lower outcomes when exposed.

Staffy1 · 09/07/2020 19:29

Was worried a while before lockdown, reading reports from China, not quite so worried once lockdown started, but still worried enough then and now, although I am getting tired of being worried all the time.

Isotope456 · 09/07/2020 19:40

I'm cautious rather than worried about the virus. I'm getting out and about, following the rules and taking sensible precautions. So far, so good.

I'm very worried about the economy absolutely tanking though.

annabel85 · 09/07/2020 20:21

I'm personally worried, i'll be staying cautious until there's an anti viral/vaccine or more is known about ongoing/long term effects.

Other people can do what they want. I'm not going to have a coronary over a packed beach.

MarshaBradyo · 09/07/2020 20:24

I feel differently now to then. I was worried about school then now keen for it to start. Will still do whatever the current advice is but can see the impact on dc more.

I knew the economy would be hammered but hard to see it in reality. Hoping for v bounce and vaccine, very much.

oxydrive73 · 09/07/2020 20:26

I'm not worried, there is a very low level in the community now. I am still following the rules and happily avoiding people though!
