Can I ask how everyone's holidays in UK tourist areas are going so far?

Anyone away this week? How are you finding things? I guess not many families have gone yet.

I live in an area with a really low covid rate. Lower than in Cornwall,

The owner of our independent outdoor gear shop about 90 mins drive from the Lake District says he gets people coming in to buy full walking gear so they "look the part" in Lake District shops

I agree - it's clearly nonsense.

And the tourists who I see popping into cafes in walking gear are almost certainly going for a walk later. They're on holiday - they're not going to go back to their accommodation to change clothes several times a day. They dress for the walk, and then happen to be wearing walking gear for the other activities they do before and after.

But hey, you carry on feeling superior to the tourists because of what they wear.....

In Devon seaside town and it’s exactly the same as usual, apart from a few queues. It’s bustling and there are no masks or social distancing. Very different from the town we live in.

If Covid doesn’t spread in this town that would be amazing and positive. I guess it’s an experiment...

We live in Northumberland and the tourists have been terrible so far ( @ILoveTotoro and @Ginfordinner don't worry, not at the places you're at!) They're all so ignorant and rude, they've taken over the entire town, no social distancing whatsoever, leaving gates open, not respecting the countryside, not following signposts. We even saw a bag of dog poo left 🙄

The uk is almost fully booked now and the prices crazy.
