Is your primary school offering full hours or part time hours upon YR return?

Today our local primary isn’t opening to YR&1, just YR6. They haven’t yet confirmed what sessions they will be offering either and a definite date for the younger years. What are other schools doing? Any wrap around care? I’m hoping to see if there’s a pattern (our school said they won’t confirm until Thurs/Fri). Thanks

No reception at all
Year 1s four days a week
Years 6s, split on a two week rota four days a week
Keyworker children five days a week

We have three spare classrooms, no spare teaching staff.

Our school is opening from next Mon 8 June.
Reception, Y1 and Y6.
Only 2 days per week per child. Classes split into two groups (bubbles).
Staggered drop-off, pick-up, lunches etc.
No before-school or after-school care.

4.5 days a week. Reception, year 1 or 6 aren't back just the 160 key worker and vulnerable kids.

I have just declined the half day for DD so she will only be doing 4 days

ureterr1blemuriel · 02/06/2020 17:21

I have just found out today - it’s starting next week. Will be 4.5 days or 2 days depending on numbers. From what I’ve heard lots aren’t going in so hopefully full time. They’re also offering wrap around!! I feel quite relieved and it’ll make work much easier.

It’s been so nice reading the other thread about how well yesterday went for many returners. I’m really excited for my DS!

Our county council has blocked them from opening. But they were supposed to be opening until 2, which I think is ridiculous.

happypotamus · 02/06/2020 17:24

At my DC's school they are only getting one day a week, no one yet knows what times, just that start and finish times will be staggered. No breakfast club or after-school club. I am a keyworker so my DC will continue to go on the days that I work (2-3 days a week), but won't get to be with their friends or teachers.

I wish people would stop saying partial opening is “no use for people needing childcare”. Obviously situations vary and it won’t help some people, but lots of people are currently trying to work from home with no childcare at all and even two days’ with their child at school would make a huge difference to the amount of work we could do (without working bedtime-midnight).

Part time short days at the moment.

They've said that this will change going forward.

@PeskyRooks

Our year R 1 & 6 aren't going back until week beginning 8th June. Surnames A-M Mon & Tues Deep clean Wed Surnames M-Z Thurs & Fri

Short days I think and staggered drop off and pick ups but not been told the times yet.

This exactly for our school too although they started back yesterday. Mine haven’t returned yet.
Rach000 · 02/06/2020 22:56

Our school is opening for nursery and reception on the 8th but cant go each wed so they can clean.
The week after opening for year 1. They will be in Wednesday's but off Friday afternoons. Week after year 6 and they also off Friday afternoons.
The separate morning and after school club is not opening for more kids but think some key worker kids are going.

Yellowcakestand · 02/06/2020 23:03

Ours have been taking key workers all along but opening to reception classed this Thursday. 30 mins less per day, 9-3

happytoday73 · 02/06/2020 23:06

Nothing for Yr 6.
Reception and yr1... 4 days. No wrap around

Muddlingalongalone · 02/06/2020 23:20

Full-time yr R, 1, 6 & keyworkers. Staggered start & finish times. Dd is 8:45-3.
Breakfast & after school club are running but I don't know how they are working them because dd1 is still at home & my office isn't open yet so I am wfh.

A local primary school near me has opened FOR EVERY YEAR GROUP. Half of each class go in the morning, half in the afternoon, (with the same class teacher for both groups?) every day apart from Wednesdays when they clean. Has anyone else heard of this happening?!
