Are hairdressers still forecast to open on the 4 July?

I think I read they were classed as non essential retail, so was wondering if it would be 15 June.

Not that I’m desperate or anything,,.🤥

Just wondered if anyone on here knew?

Thanks

Ive been using the Loreal Magic Retouch root concealer spray but so much grey has come through now that its not quite covering it all any more. A can of this doesnt last very long either as my hair is so thick. So will use up what i have but wont buy any more of it. Will just have to put up with the grey once its run out. I do have a sunhat and headbands so will have to hide it under those.

If my hairdresser has time (unlikely) i want to go from dark brown to light brown which will hide it better. I KNOW its a first world problem but i HATE this. Its wrecking my confidence and ive been eating more junk food as a result. Womens confidence is quite often tied up in their hair.

Cant wait to have my roots done. Its

@LockdownLucie I’ve seen footage of hairdressers that have opened in other countries and in some shots you could see people just holding the masks on to their faces rather than having the loops round their ears so I guess they do that when needed?

Helena I went blonde last year to cover help
blend the regrowth in. However, i am using lockdown to see if I am brave enough to totally embrace the grey. I badly need a toner and a good haircut but will have to hang fire until July. I feel a bit like a badger as I have quite a lot of grey through at the roots but other than washing, conditioning and cutting my fringe thats it.

@AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii I know my salon are desperate to open, so I imagine they have been told August, it won’t be a choice. I can’t see there being different rules for different places - we also have low cases in the region, not sure about the city itself.

They have completely revamped during lockdown with more distance between “stations”, and they will be doing early/late opening with stylists working in shifts. They have been pretty enterprising, doing custom root kits for customers who have colour done (not me, but I follow them on Instagram), and products, delivered to people’s doors!

God, I can’t wait to see my hairdresser. I have a Louise Brooks bob, which is usually just above my ear lobes. I am trimming the fringe quite successfully, but the rest is really shaggy. Today should have been my second appointment of lockdown. 😡

Oh i would go blonde but im dark (half Italian) so it wouldnt look right. Light brown might even be pushing it. I did notice one of the other colours that Loreal do in the root concealers was Golden Brown and looking at the can while i was standing in Superdrug i thought.........yeah that might work.

@helenadove I was 15 March, I think 24 April, then today. I’m usually five weeks too but my hairdresser doesn’t work every day, and I normally work in actual work, so sometimes it can be four or six. Never this long!

helena it seems like a lifetime ago, doesn’t it? I had hair at 1.45, DP met me after for coffee and cake. On the way home I picked up a blouse I had ordered from Zara, then we went to the M&S foodhall to get stuff for dinner. I went to work as normal on Monday, then just after 5 it was announced all face to face teaching was suspended. I had to go in and collect my laptop and some marking, but That Was It. The end of normal.

The Zara blouse was enormous - DP is 6ft 5 and it fits him better than me - but of course I couldn’t return the stupid thing!

Ooh it sounds like Zara does blouses that would actually accomodate my boobs

On the 1Oth March i had a lip and chin wax.
12th March was my roots (she took an inch off the bottom which i was glad of once lockdown hit) blow dry and straightened. Then afterwards Kaspas Deserts for a caramel latte.

Visited parents on the evening of the 14th March and had DMs spaghetti and meatballs.

Seems like eons ago.

If Scottish hairdressers have been told August then I feel very sorry for them, like I say some have received no money from the government yet and some aren’t even eligible

I am about 90% certain that NS was asked last week though when she announced the phases and that schools were in phase 4 for reopening In August if that meant that hairdresser etc would be in phase 4 and she said no they are in phase 3 so that’s likely to be July going on the reviews which can be sooner depending on factors of course

I was my hairdresser's first customer when she finished training. She has her own salons now, and last week sent me a link to her salon's booking system. She told me to book one appt a week until mid August. So I did.

The one she has changed and actually put notes on for colour/cut/etc timings is 11th July, so I'm guessing that's when she expects to be open.

I normally get my hair done every six weeks by a mobile hairdresser friend and she is very anxious to be back in business. I'd imagine one advantage to a mobile hairdresser is they could potentially work outdoors if customers have outdoor space. Also there isn't the risk of staff infecting each other one might expect in salons.

@pfrench is that in Scotland?
