Has anyone's school confirmed a timetable for going back?

I have a pre school kid who is due to go back 1st June. Other than being asked whether we want him to go I've not heard anything from the school as to exactly when and how he will go back. Has anyone's school sent out a timetable or a plan yet e.g. certain days/hours etc ?

Ours is meeting today to pull the plan together and said they’ll let us know tomorrow.

That’s what SLT will be working on this week. It would have been done already had the DfE not released guidance on Thursday night which meant most of the plans they’d spent all week drawing up had to go in the bin..

My DS isn't in the year groups going back but the school has sent out an email to all parents saying the children going back will be doing one week on, one week off Monday to Thursday with school closed on Fridays for deep cleaning.

Ours are releasing plans by Friday. The "Yes, No, Undecided" questionnaire closes at lunchtime today (it had 50% responses on Friday so I think they're hoping at least 75% will have done it by today).

Ours have said students won't be back on June 1st nor until there has been robust risk assessments etc. Kind of surprised me tbh; they used to be the type to be first back/no snow days etc.

Our school hasn't contacted us about whether we will be sending our (relevant year group) kids in our not.

Has everyone else had a call / email about this?

We've had a email saying you're under no obligation to return your children but nothing to ask if we will be doing so or not.

Yr R 1 and 6 and all staff back full time 1st June.

Schools may not know for sure until 28th May.

Just had a phone call to say in gfrom June 8th.

12 kids per classroom.

Alternative weeks in to accommodate this.

So one week in, one week off.

I'm not sending them back.

Our school is saying each of the 3 year groups only 1 day per week, key worker children remain full time .

I work in a preschool. We have decided to just offer 9-12 sessions. We have 12 children whose parents want them to come. Not sure if they will all come once they know we are only doing 9-12. But the shorter sessions mean we don’t have to have lunch and we will use the afternoon to clean everything thoroughly.

They won’t be able to make a definite timetable or arrangements as the government is still modelling the risks and gathering data. This is such a novel situation that the research, decision making and guidance has to be ongoing, but they needed to announce that those years might go back on June 1st as schools needed 3 weeks minimum to plan in case it does happen.

Yes, our school confirmed last week, YR will do 9-1, Y1 will do 8.50 - 2.30 and Y6 will do 8.40 - 3.15.

I thought the government updated and told schools not to put children back part time or on a rota?

No, we had a survey late last week about whether we would be sending them back or not and which class.

Yes for the privileged year groups permitted to return the timetable is in place in terms of days, session times, classrooms being used.

It’s a logistical nightmare. There are so many variables for each school that need to be considered, with very vague guidance in many areas. In preschools it’s even more complex because children aren’t necessarily in every day, so the groupings change.

1st June was the earliest schools were allowed to admit pupils and only from R, Y1 and Y6.

There's actually quite a big distinction between "due to to back" and that being the earliest a school could open, provided the figures are still stable and the school can accommodate the (apparently) risk assessed guidance in terms of staffing and space.

And if they school can't meet the guidance, they follow the part of the guidance that says they do what works best.

In order to get round the issue of numbers and logistics, breaks and cleaning, many seem to be doing half days or alternate weeks as a first step.

No. We’ve had a letter to ask if anything has changed with regards to needing a place as we’re key workers and one to say that they won’t reopen until it’s safe. But it’s a huge undertaking to put plans in place. On the other hand, we do sort of need to know in order to make preparations for going back!

We had the survey and then an email to say that school will be closed to all pupils for half term (so no keyworkers children) in order to deep clean. No word yet of timetables etc but I'm guessing it takes a while to sort out, I assume we will know by Friday.
