Would you report a police officer flouting lockdown?

A PCSO who I know to say hello to (used to cover our area and also lives around here) is clearly flouting the lockdown rules and it’s really irritating me.

I saw her three weeks ago, walking her baby granddaughter in her pram-the daughter granddaughter and partner most definitely 100% don’t live in the same household.

Then, just today I’ve seen her walk past our house, with the daughter walking really closely side by side.

I’m shocked as she should know better shouldn’t she? Should I tell anyone?

I can just imagine the conversation....

Inspector...”Susan, you have been reported as being less than two metres from a person, believed to be your daughter. Explain yourself”

Susan...”yes I went a walk with her, a couple of times there was cars coming so she had to step on the pavement and was probably less than two metres away”

Inspector..”so you are aware the guidance is to stay two metres away where POSSIBLE”?

Susan....”Yes”.

Inspector...”another thing, you were reported to be in the company of a child three weeks ago”

Susan...”yes, my granddaughter. My daughter is pregnant and had to go for a scan so i was caring for her”

Inspector....”Thanks, sorry for wasting your time”

However.... it would never go that far for that conversation to happen!!

I wouldn't as none of us know the reasons why people don't adhere to the rules and I also think mental health is equally important as physical health

Just be a good decent human being. Don’t worry about others. Keep yourself safe that’s all you can do.

Wow

I have never made such an impression on a thread before!

Seriously, many people won’t mix households because of the risk of a £100 fine. If the lady involved is flouting the law one day, then purporting to back it up the next, why shouldn’t she be reported?

I’d laugh at the “white lightning” comment but it’s spelled incorrectly in the original comment 😂

As for calling the police in future, I can no longer imagine a situation where I would. Im in London and they’ve been curckimg the park with announcements about how we just keep moving etc for exercise (before rules were relaxed).

It’s not possible for me to respect them any more.

No OP.

She may be struggling, something might have happened within the family unit that has brought them all together, it's really not your place.

I get that you are aggrieved by it, and have taken it personally as you have made the choice to stay away from family, but you can't beat others with a brush just because you are sweeping the floor and not them.

No I wouldn't but then I'm not a busybody, If the other person's actions don't affect you, mind your own business.

Indeed. Autocorrect did change my spelling of lightning. Sorry to hear about all the pesky Police Officers curckimg in the park. That must be really difficult for you. Still, you'll be able to get back to school soon Smile

My younger siblings are both furloughed but both moved back in with my mum to isolate otherwise all 3 would have been alone. How do you know they have not done this.

Oh just stop it. You saw a woman put with her daughter and grandchild and you want to 'report' them?
Just stop it.

Seriously OP. I jumped the gun because I’m so pissed off with the police and whole legal status of lockdown.

I wouldn’t report her for all kinds of reasons actually.

I think curckimg is my new word for the police enforcing “rules” instead of legislation. It’s definitely shorter than saying that!

@LilacTree1 I hope you never need the pigs. Who will you phone if you're attacked or your house is broken into? Who will deal with the fatal road accident you might be in? The death of a child?

I'll tell you what, see if you ever need us, I hope I get the call because I'll tell you to fuck off and to phone someone who you respect. Twat!

“ What’s wrong with giving equipment nicknames ”

I would have found that funny if the police weren’t behaving the way they were in lockdown.

We did have a thread about the police before....it wasn’t as pro police as this one.

LilacTree1 There was a couple of forces that were over zealous with their social media. I cringed for them but that was it. Of course with them all being “pigs” what else do you expect?

Bluebells I’ve learned not to call the police for help in the past.

Obviously if I find mum dead in her home or something, I’ll have to call them, but I won’t be happy about it.

“Who will deal with the fatal road accident you might be in”

Am I dead? I don’t drive so I definitely haven’t caused it!

I’m a very boring middle aged woman who has never used the term before so it’s....been interesting......
