Just that really, just wondering what routines people have got into during lockdown now we are 3 weeks in? What’s the best bits of your day? Anything you are enjoying that you didn’t think you would?

Easter holiday routine has been slack but has usually involved some sort of family exercise (walk/bike ride) and some time in the garden playing badminton or swingball.

Strange new routines that have become normal very quickly are Zoom drumming class on a Tuesday evening and clap for the NHS followed by virtual pub quiz against work colleagues on a Thursday.

Term time was more structured and I'm kind of looking forward to that next week to be honest.

Zero routine - it's awesome. I'm wfh and 6 months pregnant, and have always hated routine. I deliberately make each day different, it's bad enough being at home all the time let alone making parts of each day the same. So - will work in a different room, start and finish at different times, rest when I feel tired, eat when I'm hungry, go for a walk when I fancy it, sometimes do yoga, sometimes not. DH also wfh and equally happy being unstructured, the only thing we do is have dinner together (mostly end up hungry at the same time in the eve!). Still keeping to Mon-Fri as work days, and work hours are within 7am-7pm (although obviously not constantly). I'm not looking forward to being office based again, although tbh it's unlikely I'll be back in before maternity leave now, so don't have to think about it for another year Smile

Wouldn't be surprised if I feel a little differently once the baby's here though - expecting my life perspective to turn upside down!

We have quite a tight structure ( at DS(10)’s insistence before anyone tells me in damaging my child!).

8am: get up, breakfast, feed tortoises, set up for the day
9am: DH starts work in his office while me and SD do Joe Wicks.
9:30: I make my first phone call while DS does the maths that school have set and some high school maths.
10am: I write up my phone call ‘visit’ while DS watches the Glasgow Science Centre live video then we might do the experiment if there is one and we have the right things to do it or some science that school have set of his science kit.
10:30: DS has a snack goes out side and I make me and DH a coffee.
10:45: DS does Spelling Shed
11am: I do my second phone visit and DS does the English that school have set and then reads his book while I write up my visit.
12pm: lunch and DH plays football in the garden with DS
1pm: I do my third phone call while DS does an activity that school have sent.
2pm: I send out resources while DS does times table rockstars etc.
3pm: DS goes off probably to play minecraft and I finish my work.
5pm ish: we all go for a walk or bike ride.
Once we get home I make tea, tidy up and do my Duolingo Spanish.
DS goes to bed at 8ish, writes his diary and listens to audible then me and DH binge watch Netflix 🙈.

I am working, dh is not, 2 teenage boys

Up, showered and breakfasted, and at laptop by 10am unless I have an earlier meeting.

Run, or do a dvd workout around lunchtime, shower then have lunch.

Work and clean in the afternoon.

Pour first drink between 5 and 6pm. Eat around 8, dh cooks.

Watch TV go to bed.

Repeat.

Am enjoying family zoom quiz on a Saturday early evening.

And enjoy not having to commute to London although at the same time strangely missing it.

Armi- I think you speak for most of us. The inner conflict of finding him diabolically annoying and at the same time a bit inspirational and lovely is more exhausting than the actual exercise.

shinynewapple2020 · 17/04/2020 23:35

Work til about 1 pm, lunch, walk dog, bit of housework or sit outside if weather nice, play with dog, make and eat tea, sit down for evening, maybe chat with a friend , make some dinner for DH when he gets back around 10, watch a bit of TV, bed.

Online exercise class one day a week (might increase this), supermarket once a week.

Doesn't sound very exiting but I'm quite relaxed.

It’s great to hear how everyone’s planning their days. I’m sure when I’m back to work I ll wish I did more in lockdown! Working from home though I don’t have loads of spare time and even when work is slow I feel I should be trying to work.
