If or when the lockdown rules relax for a bit

Will you start seeing people or stay in isolation? Will you be someome who waits for a vaccine and lives like it's still lockdown, vulnerable or not?

I'm curious as know a few people, including those classed as vulnerable, who are eagerly waiting for lockdown to be over and it's all they seem to talk about. I haven't said that actually, they could still get very sick and the virus won't have disappeared, as I don't think they could cope with the thought of a year right now.

I know this is all a bit hypothetical but wondering about gut reactions!

I think I may just see close family and friends in that period and nobody else, before a lockdown probably restarts again in autumn. As I have a small baby, I would like to see my parents and DH parents a few times so they can see their grandchild, but no one else. Siblings live abroad sadly so that's ruled out anyway.

Couldn’t even if I wanted to! Think work my want me back rather than sat at home with my tin hat!

Seriously cannot see most people staying isolated until their is a vaccine it’s only laying at the moment because government is paying wages after that most people will have to go to work.

And if we cannot go to the pub then a whole host of people cannot go to work! There needs to be some recognition of the inter connectivity of our lives if a partial reverse was to work, given all the things that are banned are also places of work and sources of income for many

I'll be seeing my parents and my son who lives away for work. I will however still be maintaining social distancing for some time (as in I'll see my parents but I won't be hugging them, mainly because dm is vulnerable). I won't be rushing to go to the nearest popular pub the first day they open , but I'll go to one of the quieter ones and have a drink in the beer garden. Will also continue with careful hand washing.

And as others have mentioned, it won't be a case of everything opening at once, I think it will be a good while before social places like pubs/cafes and gyms open up. I think non essential shops will open first, but they'll still be careful about allowing too many people in/queueing etc.

I will be going to see my parents and my brother and taking my DCs so they can see their grandchildren as well I'm missing them so much and although we are thankfully able to see each other via FaceTime it's still not the same as being able to give them a massive hug that is my number one thing once this lockdown is over when ever that will be I will be going straight away to my parents and brother

NemophilistRebel · 06/04/2020 13:02

I’m staying isolated until baby is here now due to latest findings from RCOG.

I’d love to see my family again as soon as possible after though

Lelophants · 06/04/2020 13:19

@otterPotter my point exactly!

Lelophants · 06/04/2020 13:20

@NemophilistRebel what are the findings?

zelbazinnamon · 06/04/2020 13:24

I'm going to get my mum down here, especially if it seems like it's being lifted but will be restricted again, so that she could be on lockdown with us rather than on her own...

NemophilistRebel · 06/04/2020 13:31

@Lelophants that vertical transmission from mother to foetus has been confirmed and third trimester stillborns have occurred due to COVID infections

cosmicfriends · 06/04/2020 13:32

As soon as I'm allowed I will be straight round to my parents. This is the longest I've ever been away from them and I miss them a lot. My DS is also missing them lots and he doesn't understand why he can see them ok FaceTime but not to cuddle.

Lexilooo · 06/04/2020 13:32

It depends on work really, I am working from home an hope to be able to until the risk is substantially reduced as I don't want to be squeezing onto packed public transport twice a day.
