What does everyone think of 5G?

What do you all think of 5G?

I've heard so much about it but don't quite get it. I have so many questions.
Is it safe, does it cause cancer, is the lockdown to place 5G satellites everywhere,

  • WTAF is this batshittery?! Just when you thought MN was already nuttier than a bag of squirrel poo lol.*

Um... mainly one poster being roundly rebutted?

forgetthehousework · 04/04/2020 18:51

Conspiracy theorists always have the upper hand in an argument though, 'cos anything they don't agree with is being suppressed - obviously!
Opinions on the moon landings anyone?

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 04/04/2020 18:54

I’m actually really half this is being discussed

For too long, anyone expressing any concern about 5G has been ridiculed. But here are many scientists concerned about it. It is being rolled out very hastily.

I do wonder if 5G has allowed the jump of coronavirus more easily from animal human. No idea but seems strange the virus originated in Wuhan

But leaving corona aside, we honestly don’t know if 5G is safe. The studies are based on 2G, largely

Lonelycrab · 04/04/2020 18:57

I do wonder if 5G has allowed the jump of coronavirus more easily from animal human. No idea but seems strange the virus originated in Wuhan

No I’m sorry you lost me there. Can you explain how that ^ actually happens Hmm

dementedpixie · 04/04/2020 18:59

Eh?!

What about the other viruses that have jumped from animal to human when 5G didnt exist?

ErrolTheDragon · 04/04/2020 19:09

But here are many scientists concerned about it.

No, there really aren't.

mindproject · 04/04/2020 19:21

Why on earth would the governments around the world decide to collectively tank their economies, spend trillions, allow (in some cases) the many many thousands of unneeded deaths and risk their electoral reputations?

Conspiracy theorists say that one of the main aims is depopulation. The elites have worked out that they're not going to be living on Mars now afterall, so they want to cull this planet to make sure global warming is minimised. Bill Gates said that vaccinations could reduce the population by 10 - 15%. He wants that.

Either that, or they just get a kick out of it. Governments of the world are controlled by psychopaths. They enjoy watching people suffer. Billionaires are not like us. They want chaos and destruction. It's like asking 'But why would Hitler want to gas millions of people?'

Postspecific · 04/04/2020 19:22

This is the problem with
a) The Internet
b) Everyone reading everything in their own voice.

We used to be able to look people in the eye when they went around with their bell and sandwich board.
We could tell straight away when it was pure subjective paranoia.

nauticant · 04/04/2020 21:38

The best thing this thread demonstrates is that conspiracy theorists don't actually understand what conspiracy theories are.

Anyway, if you want a conspiracy theory, compare the stock prices of Amazon, owned by the world's richest man (maybe), and the stock market in general, say the DJIA. It's clear who stands to benefit from the pandemic. Maybe Jeff Bezos's has secret holdings in critical pharma companies.

BilboBercow · 04/04/2020 21:46

This is mad. Akin to flat earther stuff.

nauticant · 04/04/2020 21:54

But you've got to admit BilboBercow with the unremitting grim news we've been having* at least this is entertaining.

*It even killed off April Fool this year. But did it? Maybe that was part of a broader more sinister plan.

mindproject · 04/04/2020 21:57

If someone had told you 6 months ago they were going to shut down everything, people were going to be confined to their homes, holidays would be banned, everyone would be washing their hands in bleach, people would be walking around in plastic bags, with queues around the block at the supermarket and there would be no toilet paper anywhere - then you would have said STFU, conspiracy bollox, tin foil hat wearing, looney tunes, lock her up, flat earth cuckoo nonsense.

But here we are. Anything is possible. We are lied to all over the place. The conspiracy theorists are more likely to be telling you the truth than the BBC are.

buttermilkwaffles · 04/04/2020 21:59

"Bill Gates said that vaccinations could reduce the population by 10 - 15%. He wants that."

No, he didn't.

nauticant · 04/04/2020 22:00

If someone had told me all that, and they weren't a frothing at the mouth loon, I would have said "take me through it, explain where it came from" and then I'd assess whether it could be put into a rational framework.

mindproject · 04/04/2020 22:07

Sure.

nauticant · 04/04/2020 22:25

Open-minded enough for your brains to have fallen out but not open-minded enough to entertain rational thought.

OK OP, you do your own thing.

thepeopleversuswork · 04/04/2020 22:30

"The conspiracy theorists are more likely to be telling you the truth than the BBC are."

Really? Like the morons who post on the reddit thread about coronavirus conspiracy. Highly credible, these people. Oh yes. Stuff about conspiracies between the Rockefeller family and a 'non-human force known as the "archons.'

If you actually believe this shit, rather than just pretending to believe it for shock value, then you are profoundly stupid.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 22:33

Um... mainly one poster being roundly rebutted?

Yes, but it's still absolute utter bollocks being spouted on MN.
For once though it seems to be being mainly called out though instead of sucked up, at least that's a plus Smile

Wannabegreenfingers · 04/04/2020 22:33

What the actual f*ck......

Please give your head a wobble.

Lonelycrab · 04/04/2020 22:35

If someone had told you 6 months ago they were going to

Who is “they”?

Cba. Tbh I think conspiracy theories in general come from laziness. It’s a convenient answer that makes one feel better about the world because of the feeling you see the truth.

But it’s an illusion you’re indulging in because it makes you feel more empowered, that’s all.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 22:38

The conspiracy theorists are more likely to be telling you the truth than the BBC are

FFS Grin
Yes, it would have seemed more than impossible 6 months ago to even envisage what we're having to go through now - eg not being able to go out etc.
Where, where in your head though does that mean it must mean that just because conspiracy theorists may have said the same thing, you must stay in your homes, that means that nothing rational like a virus could mean the same thing?
It's all just the Wifi's fault Confused Hmm
Why are you defaulting to conspiracy theorists are right?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 22:40

Who is “they”?

The people
They're all around
They TOLD us.
We didn't listen
and now Wifi phone masts are coming
Or summat.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/04/2020 22:41

Yes, but it's still absolute utter bollocks being spouted on MN.

This sort of bollocks is spouted in all sorts of places (eg the 'sources' gullible people 'research')

For once though it seems to be being mainly called out though instead of sucked up, at least that's a plus
Bollocks usually is called out on MN. It's why MNHQ tends to leave these threads - for them to be taken apart.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 22:43

I do wonder if 5G has allowed the jump of coronavirus more easily from animal human. No idea but seems strange the virus originated in Wuhan

Whuh?
Can you expand on that? (Even though I'm not holding my breath)
How does 5G have anything to do with animals and human and any jumping between the species?

frumpety · 04/04/2020 22:45

I have tinfoil but do not suit any type of hat except possibly a Vietnamese leaf hat and that would surely use the whole roll, is it reusable and can it withstand being wiped down with clinell wipes ?
