What does everyone think of 5G?

What do you all think of 5G?

I've heard so much about it but don't quite get it. I have so many questions.
Is it safe, does it cause cancer, is the lockdown to place 5G satellites everywhere,

If you have questions, do some research based on reputable sources instead of looking for the answers on mumsnet or social media.

BigChocFrenzy · 04/04/2020 16:38

Look at the bunch of idiots in charge atm

Do you think they could run any conspiracy of even 5 people for more than 5 minutes ?

ErrolTheDragon · 04/04/2020 16:43

Ah, that's what they want us to think, BigChocGrin

VeganVeal · 04/04/2020 17:05

I'm not risking it, I've made a hat out of tin foil

thepeopleversuswork · 04/04/2020 17:22

mindcontrol I've just checked out Dana Ashlie and I have never seen such a load of abject bollocks in my life.

How exactly does she "expose" lies? She parrots some random theory which has been emailed to her by some other conspiracy theorist. With no evidence whatsoever. The one I watched was her talking about how some friend had told her that the schools in her state had been closed to instal 5G in the school buildings or some such nonsense. There was no verification whatsoever, it was just hearsay.

These people are absolute charlatans who are trading on your desire to sound clever. You are literally putting your health at risk if you act on their evidence.

mindproject · 04/04/2020 17:54

Sorry to interrupt your programming. I know it's upsetting that people are questioning the narrative. It's far happier to keep on believing everything you are told by the big people, who just want everyone to be healthy and happy Hmm

myrtleWilson · 04/04/2020 17:55

christ grow up mindproject

mindproject · 04/04/2020 18:00

Save your 'grow ups' for the people who protected Saville, Epstein and Prince Andrew. All of whom were the subject of conspiracy 'theories', but now are conspiracy fact.

thepeopleversuswork · 04/04/2020 18:00

mindproject no one has any problem with questioning the narrative. People have been questioning the government relentlessly on their strategy.

spouting claptrap without any source citing loons on YouTube who have heard conspiracies from mates of mates as fact is not questioning the narrative. It’s substituting a narrative based on utter woo for one based on science and fact.

mindproject · 04/04/2020 18:03

None of us here, sitting in our homes, can prove if 5G is harmful or not. I will remain open minded about it. I won't trust scientists or conspiracy theorists or anyone with a vested interest. I will wait and see what happens.

astericia · 04/04/2020 18:04

Do any of them understand even the most basic biological principles? Like what a virus is? I think the schools need to reopen so all the people believing this shite can go and resit KS3 science.

myrtleWilson · 04/04/2020 18:05

I don't recall any 'conspiracy theories' being lodged towards people raising concerns about Epstein, PA and Saville. However, some of the people who were raising the flag about Saville were also peddling ridiculous conspiracy theories - for example David Icke whose forum simultaneously held that Saville was a paedophile and the Queen was a lizard.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 18:07

Whatttttttttt Grin
I'm actually lolling here.
WTAF is this batshittery?!
Just when you thought MN was already nuttier than a bag of squirrel poo lol.

Coronavirus is just a rouse to keep us all indoors so they can erect 5g thingys everywhere seemingly

The way the weekly NHS clapping has been precisely timed to cover up the buzzing sound of the 5G being upgraded is very worrying...
I know you're joking, but if some if some people are taking it seriously they really need to lay off watching Dr Who episodes lol.
I mean.... I just can't even.

esjee · 04/04/2020 18:14

@mindproject. Happy to question the 'narrative' (such CT speak by the way - whatever the conspiracy there's always a bloody narrative! No reality, reality never exists, just a 'narrative'. Nonsensical.) but as I have a brain and am capable of using it, I'll continue doing so in sane and rational ways. Isn't there a forum for people who believe this shite, maybe you'd be happier there, having your nonsense validated and feeling superior and 'in the know'. Honestly, I fear for the future sometimes, if we lose the ability to be rational and accurately evaluate sources and evidence and think logically, we're screwed and its already happening on a wide scale. You are not enlightened, you're a sheep to the idea that a shadowy something is behind everything because you can't bear that reality is shit. That's basically how religion developed, but now we're mostly too scientific for religion we need something else to fill the gap and give events 'meaning' beyond the random. Its a shame.

mindproject · 04/04/2020 18:15

I think a far more credible conspiracy is that coronavirus is real thing (possibly a man-made real thing) that is being blown out of all proportion by the governments and the media to collapse the economy, push millions into destitution, make people more dependent on the state (and consequently more compliant), remove children from their parents (for the elite pedos), remove paper currency, force vaccinations on people, remove most of our human rights and push through a dozen other agendas we don't even know about.

That's the way I see it. I don't know about the 5G thing.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 18:15

This

esjee · 04/04/2020 18:18

@mindproject. What would be the benefit. The vast majority of countries don't want anything like that and would benefit from that situation in no way whatsoever. Its just utter nonsense.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 18:19

I completely agree, and I'm seeing it more and more on MN,
People seem to be losing the art of rational thinking and common sense, and I think itt's worrying.
It's not just the corona threads.
You have cheerleader type posters, who post things as "absolute truth" and expect everyone to blindly swallow what they're saying.
If somebody shows a bit of thinking for themselves, and says "hang on a minute, where did you get that from?" or questions in any way, they can't.
It's their mate's mate said it, or they resort to personal attacks as they can't back up what they're saying.
It is really worrying.

midgebabe · 04/04/2020 18:21

Hey I love doctor who.

But just curious, as a scientist and a mother what vested interest would I have in allowing a dangerous technology to be deployed?

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 04/04/2020 18:21

I work in mh it’s a very popular theory at present (not with staff) had it explained to me in many times this week still not quite grasping it

Saying that those I work with are taking things more seriously that we expected and being sensible

bellinisurge · 04/04/2020 18:24

Flat Earth bollocks.

Who on earth would benefit from this?
Why would any government want to vastly expand the amount of money the state needs to spend on supporting people?
What agendas?

A conspiracy theory is only credible if there is a plausible motive for it. No government in the world would want that situation to unfold. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever for a government to deliberately create a scenario which it would cost trillions for that same government to unravel and which would lead to poverty and destitution on a huge scale. It benefits no-one.

You're talking a lot about "questioning the narrative" but you have made no attempt at all to question your own bollocks narrative.

Lonelycrab · 04/04/2020 18:29

Personally I think it’s a complete load of bollock. Coronavirus seems to be doing pretty well in Iran, and will obviously take hold across the world in places a long way from 5g.

People should listen to credible scientific consensus not any old rubbish on YouTube. Ymmv.

myrtleWilson · 04/04/2020 18:45

Why on earth would the governments around the world decide to collectively tank their economies, spend trillions, allow (in some cases) the many many thousands of unneeded deaths and risk their electoral reputations?

And exactly when did they all decide on this? Was there a zoom call about something else then we get to AOB and some soul says "actually, chaps I know we've got a bit on our plate with climate change and all that (sorry Donald) but I've been thinking...."

ErrolTheDragon · 04/04/2020 18:46

Flat Earth bollocks.

Flat earthers (if that's their only foible) are at least largely harmless eccentrics. The same doesn't apply to myths and conspiracy theories around Coronavirus, antivaxxers, climate change deniers.
