I'm not using anything different to what I normally use, for the simple reason that I couldn't find anything in stock so have had to make do with what I have.
I have half a bottle of Dettol Antibacterial spray left, which I use to disinfect door handles and such.
For general worktop cleaning, I use a Flash spray, and then rinse dishcloth out and wipe again with clean dishcloth.
I tried to buy Dettol but couldn't find it anywhere.
For floors, you're going to laugh or tell me that I'm killing myself slowly, but I use Jeyes Fluid (because I love the smell of it).
I use bleach down the toilet and again a Flash bathroom cleaner for bathroom.
I polish bathroom with vinegar.
I polish kitchen sink and cooker top with vinegar and counter tops with pledge.
In the bedroom I use Flash on the floors.

The same as usual - hot soapy water to clean most things, a bit of bleach down the loo every now and then and cream cleaner for the kitchen sink and shower.

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 13:58

I've often wondered whether hot soapy water would be enough? Even before this. It's hard to transport hot soapy water from kitchen to living room to bedrooms etc. which is why I like sprays. I also have a notion that sprays have an antibacterial added? Could be a victim of marketing.

As we are not going out, and no-one is ill, so I am not cleaning daily. Otherwise just using my normal cleaners once a week.

Wingedharpy · 03/04/2020 14:00

Milton, near bleach and a flame thrower😉

Wingedharpy · 03/04/2020 14:01

Neat

emmathedilemma · 03/04/2020 14:01

you mistake me for someone who cleans daily!!
Weekly at a push and same as usual - bathroom cleaner and anti-bac spray. Supermarket own brand, none of that fancy dettol stuff. Bleach round the inside of the loo.

Apolloanddaphne · 03/04/2020 14:02

I'm cleaning once a week like usual and just using the products I have under the sink. I wipe down the kitchen after shopping but I am only shopping once a week now anyway.

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 14:03

Oh, I've thought of another thing I use. It's called 'The pink stuff' and comes in a tub. It smells like Brillo Pads that you used to get years ago? It's merciless. It's hard on ur hands and nails though and I never think to put rubber gloves on before I use it, but it is unbelievable for cleaning cooker hobs or staining on a sink or whatever. It's gritty, so you have to wipe a few times, but this stuff is good.

The best product is soap/washing up liquid as it breaks down the outer envelope of the virus, effectively destroying it. That is all I am using. Don't foget to do kitchen cupboard doors and handles, light switches and bannisters.

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 14:06

I probably spent more pre CV on cleaning products than on my hair. Easily.
Now you can't find anything, so at least I have a stash of sorts.

Apolloanddaphne · 03/04/2020 14:07

Wit the stuff I have under the sink. I can't remember what it is. I squirt it on and wipe with a cloth.

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 14:08

Not gonna happen lol. I'd be following myself around lol!

Pink Stuff is amaaaaazing!
But for general cleaning I’m using what I always did. Flash or Method for hard floors, a Sainsbury’s apple antibac for sides, Zoflora for sinks, Cif or Dettol bathroom spray. Just upped the light switch/ door handle etc cleaning with Dettol wipes.

bengalcat · 03/04/2020 14:11

I'm using the normal stuff eg Method , Waitrose eco ( because I like the smell ) - am a clean weekly type of person / or if there is a spillage or mess but as DP is home while I'm still out at work have noticed the bottle going down more quickly .

sweetkitty · 03/04/2020 14:11

I use antibac spray on the counters/table etc about 3/4 times a day, not because of CV but we have 3 cats who are not allowed on kitchen counters but never listen. Apart from normal cleaning I’ve been cleaning the front door down daily and the handles.

Having 4 DC and 7 pets I clean a lot anyway.

Apolloanddaphne · 03/04/2020 14:13

I think this is not the thread for me!!

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 14:13

Ah Saucery - compadre! I selfishly was not going to tell anyone about it in case there was a run on The Pink Stuff, but it's the business! I feel like an advertisement for it now, but even grease splatters down the side of counter (at right angle to counter) and it's the only think that cuts through it.

middleager · 03/04/2020 14:13

Please don't do what I did and breathe in harsh chemicals through over cleaning.

Im currently on day 3 of a horrible bug. Maybe CV who knows? And I gave myself a tight chest cough through ingesting chemicals so now I don't know what's bug or chemically induced.

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 14:14

at right angle to cooker not counter

HoffiCoffi13 · 03/04/2020 14:14

Same as normal, but I definitely don’t clean daily.

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 14:15

Jeyes Fluid is probably not healthy for me, but I just adore the smell of it.

OP posts:
Saucery · 03/04/2020 14:16

I took mine to work to spruce up a table and it’s still there, locked away from me, Balmytissues Sad

Balmytissues · 03/04/2020 14:17

I don't clean everywhere daily apart from the kitchen. Bathroom maybe every 3 days, floors maybe every 4 days, bedroom once a week.
I just meant what daily household products do you use. Probably didn't phrase it correctly.
