How long have you managed to stay inside for. I am lucky I have managed to get food delivered. My DD had a cough originally so we have isolated together, we do exercise inside (keep fit videos together) and I am now working from home. I just wondered how many days others havent stepped outside their door. My DD boyfriend is isolating with us and has only been out to take the bins out and thats it, the 3 of us are all working from home, its become our new normal, I think I have become a recluse as I am finding it OK.

How is everyone else doing?

Everybody should take vitamin D3. Unless you spend a good deal of time half naked lying in the sun you're probably not getting enough.

3 weeks. But then I have a decent garden in a fairly quiet area so I wouldn't compare my experience to those who are in flats or small houses without garden. If I was gardenless I would be climbing the walls right now.

The thing is, if I go out it would be just my luck to meet someone who coughs and splutters all over me, Its like a game of "avoid the human" lol

Definitely understand that!

The vitamin D point is a good one. At the end of winter almost everyone in the U.K. will have their levels depleted. You need to get outside with some skin exposed (or supplement). You are not putting your immune system in the best position to fight this thing by hiding indoors unnecessarily.

I live in Spain. It's very sunny here, I've known several friends, and myself, be tested for vitamin D levels the last couple of years. Every single one of them was low. Mine was through the floor. If we here in Spain are low, then in the UK you have pretty much zero chance of having good levels.
Seriously, watch that video link I posted just up a few posts. It explains it very well.

I was deficient in Vit D in 2016, took supplements and my level was v high in 2017 - my GP even said to stop supplementing. In 2018, without supplements but plenty of sunshine, my level dropped by 100. So I have continued to take supplements ever since just to maintain a healthy level - us Brits simply cannot naturally obtain a decent amount of it!

Not been out in 15 days since son, 13, rode a fever.
Was my first day due out yest and now I have a fever, headache and razor throat.

Guess that's another 14. If all 4 of us have symptoms that follow each 14 days that would be 8 weeks in total then.

@Jenasaurus

Thanks so much for the Beelivery recommendation. I'm sick and managed to get some basics delivered earlier - milk, bread, jam, juice - its been a life saver - the delivery guy was so nice and it was all very speedy. Yes expensive but i was desperate!

Jenasaurus · 02/04/2020 22:13

Im glad you benefited from that link hollieberrie Its nice to know there is a way through this isnt it. Something simple like sharing information on how to get food is worth it if someone benefits from it.

It is expensive as you say, but I like to think, its their payment for putting themselves at risk so we dont have to :)

I'd rather stay in my house til this is all over than have to go work and risk my life. I'm a keyworker so haven't got a choice and bills need to be paid.
