I'm freaking out Sad

We have two week old in house too. What do I do? Just calpol? Call 111?

How are they both?

Baby seems fine.

DS1 went back to hospital last night in ambulance after temperature had stayed at 38-39 all day with calpol having no effect.
Paramedic on the phone suggested it might be tonsillitis as I could feel his glands and he was complaining of a sore throat. We related this at hospital, they couldn't check his throat, but gave us antibiotics. They also said he could have nurofen.

Today he has had paracetamol and nurofen regularly, and his antibiotics. His temperature has stayed down. He had nurofen at 7 just before bed.

I woke him up an hour ago for more nurofen as temperature was back up to 38.4, and I've just checked again and hour later and it hasn't moved, not sure what to do next Sad

Oh gosh, I really feel for you. It's frightening when that happens under normal circumstances never mind these bizarre conditions we're living in. When did they start antibiotics? Just last night? (Thurs night?

newmumagainn · 03/04/2020 02:34

Thursday AM he started antibiotics.

The antibiotics will start to work soon I am sure. Just keep going with the paracetamol and ibuprofen. The baby books and websites don't prepare you for this side of parenting do they? Try to get some rest

Antibiotics often take 24 to 48 hours to start working so keep on with calpol and neurofen. Plenty of fluids and ice lollies/ ice creams are good for throat infections. Hope he feels better soon x
