Email sent to anytime pass holders (at least) on Thursday

We have experienced such extraordinary levels of demand in recent days that despite our best efforts, we simply have not had enough capacity to serve all our customers.
To put it into context, practically every Ocado customer, no matter how infrequently they may have shopped previously, is now looking to place an order every week. At the same time, with families at home, the average size of orders has almost doubled. This means there is an unceasing level of demand several times our current delivery capacity.
We’ve already taken decisive steps to manage this demand, closing our doors to new customers, and limiting customers to one delivery slot every seven days. However, despite these measures, we can see that not all Smart Pass customers have been able to book a delivery.
As an Anytime Smart Pass member, we consider you to be one of our best customers, so we’ve set up a temporary priority queue to enable you to book a delivery slot each week.
How you will get access:
We have divided all paying Anytime Smart Pass members who joined before 2020 into a number of equal-sized, randomised groups. You will be placed in one of these groups.
At spaced intervals, we will give each group access to the priority queue, enabling them to quickly get in and choose a slot for their weekly delivery. We will do this by sending each group an email and text message between the hours of 9am and 5pm, starting tomorrow.
Once you get your email, you’ll have the rest of the day to place and check out your order. Please wait for your message, as you won’t be able to access the priority queue at other times.
Please be aware that there is still high demand for slots, and you may not see full availability for all time slots. But, because we can now prioritise the customers we let on to the website, and each customer can only have one slot, you can be confident that there are enough slots – and groceries – to go around.
Our developers continue to work on a better solution which will allow us to manage this in a simpler way but, for now, this fix at least helps us to prioritise you in the short-term. It makes access fair, and helps to keep traffic to our website at manageable levels, ensuring you the best possible shopping experience in the circumstances.
Please note: our usually all-knowing Customer Service team can’t set-up or change this temporary process, so they won’t be able to tell you which group you are in, or when you will get your email.

Will be v glad to have a slot confirmed. I would have cancelled my Ocado subscription otherwise. As a customer who orders weekly and should also be screened, I was getting quite concerned what the next few months would be like.

Anyone had their priority access yet?

Do they let you on if your delivery is imminent?

No Sad. My order is coming tomorrow. For the past 2 days, it's been saying to come back on Sunday morning to edit Monday orders, but it's still not letting me in.

I haven't had an email but I have a delivery due on Tuesday. Then yesterday evening I found I was able to logon without queueing! No notification about it. So that was a relief as I'd lost the email with what I had in the order.

Ah so maybe if I try tomorrow or at a pinch, Tuesday, I'll get on! Thanks. Think this will be my last delivery for a long while - am looking into veg boxes and will try to top up longer-life products in this shop.

@winningwhilstlosing don't be too upset. I logged in yesterday 5 minutes after getting the e mail and no slots at all.

Maybe I live in an area with lots of vulnerable people identified. Can't think why all slots have gone otherwise.

I got my email yesterday, and was able to edit my Tuesday order and book one for the following Wednesday. It's quite odd booking so much in advance, I'm not the best meal planner in the traditional sense of the words! Hopefully those who haven't got an email will get one soon.

I always have my orders booked weekly as far as possible so I felt quite unsettled at first. I'm trying to go to fortnight orders for March as that's places for two other orders/ people. I don't have much storage or freezer space though so think I'll try for every 10 days in April

@winningwhilstlosing I think I'd ask Ocado when the last priority anytime pass slots are so you know the maximum time. My access email didn't come until 9 hours after I was given access. Presuming you've checked your spam folder?

I think I have an order for Friday but who knows - I booked it a few weeks ago. I usually have a regular weekly delivery and have the smart pass and did the reserved thing a few weeks ago too. I assume that that reserved is no longer, though they haven't said. Its a shame we've all been kept in the dark with it all and it's a little like Charlie and the Chocolate factory and the golden ticket as to what you get when. or even if you are allowed entry to the site.

I know the whole of the country wants a delivery but Its a shame that regular/loyal customers have been shoved to one side with no explanation as such apart from an email saying we will let you know when you can access.

All the messages coming out from Ocado are very confusing. CS staff at contradicting themselves on Twitter re. reserved orders, for example

I have any anytime pass and received an email yesterday - however clicking the link just sent me straight into the site, no special queue, also no delivery slots and no calendar showing past 7th April.

I do have a late afternoon delivery due tomorrow that I managed to book weeks ago - I can still edit it, so if anyone else has a delivery due tomorrow it and needs to edit, it is worth persevering with trying to get on the site and the cut-off has not been brought forward yet.

Finally managed to get into priority queue this morning and only waited 5 mins before editing and checking out my Tuesday order. Most things in stock even if not every brand. Apart from hand sanitizer.
I have a midweek pass.

I had the initial email but haven’t had the Second email giving me access to the priority queue yet. I managed to get a rare booking for 18 April last week - so hopefully I have that to look forward to. Unless it’s cancelled nearer the time.

Good to read of more successes

I have an order on Friday I'd happily push out to any day early the following week but I'm concerned that the Ocado processes are changing so much they'll lock me out of orders for 7 days from Friday.

Luckily my Mums order was delivered this afternoon. Only one substitute, a large tub of bistro gravy granules instead of a small. Hey we can live with that! She was also grateful for the packet of hot cross buns I put in there!
How soon after delivery do you get the mail inviting you to book for the next one? I am checking emails as soon as I can!

I don't believe you can only have one order logged. I have two for starters! You can only have one order every seven days.

I haven't had an emailed but went on to try to edit my next order and it said I have priority access. I went straight through and edited but I can't book another slot the thing just hangs for 5 minutes and then takes me back to the option to edit. Is this because my order isn't until next Friday?

Ah I’m now wondering if it’s because I’m still on the free trial bit. I had a smart pass for 5 years then cancelled it in November.. reactivated at the start of feb. Maybe this disqualifies me then? Frustrating.
