Email sent to anytime pass holders (at least) on Thursday

We have experienced such extraordinary levels of demand in recent days that despite our best efforts, we simply have not had enough capacity to serve all our customers.
To put it into context, practically every Ocado customer, no matter how infrequently they may have shopped previously, is now looking to place an order every week. At the same time, with families at home, the average size of orders has almost doubled. This means there is an unceasing level of demand several times our current delivery capacity.
We’ve already taken decisive steps to manage this demand, closing our doors to new customers, and limiting customers to one delivery slot every seven days. However, despite these measures, we can see that not all Smart Pass customers have been able to book a delivery.
As an Anytime Smart Pass member, we consider you to be one of our best customers, so we’ve set up a temporary priority queue to enable you to book a delivery slot each week.
How you will get access:
We have divided all paying Anytime Smart Pass members who joined before 2020 into a number of equal-sized, randomised groups. You will be placed in one of these groups.
At spaced intervals, we will give each group access to the priority queue, enabling them to quickly get in and choose a slot for their weekly delivery. We will do this by sending each group an email and text message between the hours of 9am and 5pm, starting tomorrow.
Once you get your email, you’ll have the rest of the day to place and check out your order. Please wait for your message, as you won’t be able to access the priority queue at other times.
Please be aware that there is still high demand for slots, and you may not see full availability for all time slots. But, because we can now prioritise the customers we let on to the website, and each customer can only have one slot, you can be confident that there are enough slots – and groceries – to go around.
Our developers continue to work on a better solution which will allow us to manage this in a simpler way but, for now, this fix at least helps us to prioritise you in the short-term. It makes access fair, and helps to keep traffic to our website at manageable levels, ensuring you the best possible shopping experience in the circumstances.
Please note: our usually all-knowing Customer Service team can’t set-up or change this temporary process, so they won’t be able to tell you which group you are in, or when you will get your email.

Will be v glad to have a slot confirmed. I would have cancelled my Ocado subscription otherwise. As a customer who orders weekly and should also be screened, I was getting quite concerned what the next few months would be like.

Anyone had their priority access yet?

I am an anytime pass holder, clocked the link within ten minutes of getting email but had to queue to get in for about half an hour. I could only get a slot 13 days away. I've ordered a full order as we can probably get stuff from local shop plus a couple of things for Easter. The cost is nearly three times my normal order, I don't think I realised how much I bought on the buy one get one half price or discounted. For example nappies are almost always discounted - but not now !

Thank you Milky77. I am a long time anytime pass holder so I hope to get an invite after my mums delivery tomorrow. That will be for us, then in 7 days I can get a fortnights food for her. And so forth. I feel so sorry for her because she is not online, she feels a bit cut off, as she has to absorb the news as she watches it. People are so lovely though, I put out a call on Facebook for her area (where I grew up) to ask somebody to put a paper through her door. Within two minutes, 3 friends from my junior school from 40 years ago said I’m on it. They just said they would do it in turn; and refused payment. My Mum rang me in tears, saying ‘aren’t people wonderful’. Indeed, most of them are.

Anyone think Ocado have put their prices up a bit? I had noticed before covid but its even more noticeable now with no discounts or offers

My email arrived about 8 hours after I had access btw so you may want to check from time to time. You'll be able to tell straight away by the message on the screen if you are in the priority queue.

Does anyone know how frequently they release slots? There were none available when I got the priority email and so I am resigning myself to no deliveries for weeks despite the 'priority' status (I realise lots of people are in this position)

What are you all seeing on the holding page right now?

I have an order for tomorrow I wanted to edit. For the last couple of days it's been telling me to come back on sunday morning. But now, nothing!

I appreciate they are going through a crazy time but they keep changing the rules about access, and never send out any kind of comms about it....

Never about an hour ago and yesterday I could get straight onto normal site.

Recently I’ve had a ‘your next available delivery is x’ which sounds promising but clicking on that still there’s no slots.

@theneverendinglaundry - just seen the same thing. I have an order coming for Tuesday which I wanted to add a few bits for a friend who can't go out. Yesterday it said I could go on today 8-3, but now the site appears to be locked again. Honestly the lack of clarity from Ocado has been so stressful.

To me the fairest option would be to offer the slots as they were used last year - ie, if you ordered for a 10am delivery on the 2nd April 2019 you get it now. Any unused slots go to vunerable or isolating customers.

I've not had any emails at all - about reserved slots going, or about smart pass holders getting priority - the only reason i knew about it was from this thread! I had a look yesterday - and that was apparenlty my priority day! So I've booked a delivery for a fortnight, which is fair I think, I was going to alternate with my parents but it's easier now if I order for all of us and then deliver their goods to their door, even though it's quite a long drive I'm assuming that's allowed as they're elderly.

So keep checking!

Also I messaged them to ask what was happening with priorities and they sent me a link to the govt page for anyone to register as vulnerable as they say they are prioritising those groups - so do register and hopefully between them the supermarkets will cover everyone, it's a bit of a mess but hopefully it will get sorted soon. A lot's changed very quickly so hopefully in another week it will improve.

So they are replying to emails then? In that case I might email and ask why they’re not allowing a regular customer of nine years - who’s heavily pregnant and scared to go to the shops - to place any orders. I feel so let down.

In the general email it told me that my priority day was 8 - 5 the following day. I think. Now I am doubting myself!

I got a slot with Tesco anyway, by some kind of miracle but , in the interim, I am going to have to shop in an actual supermarket which I am not relishing as a prospect.

How funny, the earliest I could get was 22nd too! Luckily I have one for today and then 8 days time but will mean a supermarket shop after that. Not too shabby I suppose

I have the general SmartPass email but haven’t yet received a priority link.

Out of curiosity I’ve just gone onto the website ‘cold’. It says this:

I haven't received an email despite having had an anytime pass for years. I've got a delivery, booked a month ago, for next week but can't get anywhere near editing it - any tips?! I'm going to end up with a load of random crap at this rate. Do they let you on if your delivery is imminent? Mine in Wednesday but they're bringing the edit cut off forward so tomorrow seems to be the last feasible day to change it.
