We have experienced such extraordinary levels of demand in recent days that despite our best efforts, we simply have not had enough capacity to serve all our customers.
To put it into context, practically every Ocado customer, no matter how infrequently they may have shopped previously, is now looking to place an order every week. At the same time, with families at home, the average size of orders has almost doubled. This means there is an unceasing level of demand several times our current delivery capacity.
We’ve already taken decisive steps to manage this demand, closing our doors to new customers, and limiting customers to one delivery slot every seven days. However, despite these measures, we can see that not all Smart Pass customers have been able to book a delivery.
As an Anytime Smart Pass member, we consider you to be one of our best customers, so we’ve set up a temporary priority queue to enable you to book a delivery slot each week.
How you will get access:
We have divided all paying Anytime Smart Pass members who joined before 2020 into a number of equal-sized, randomised groups. You will be placed in one of these groups.
At spaced intervals, we will give each group access to the priority queue, enabling them to quickly get in and choose a slot for their weekly delivery. We will do this by sending each group an email and text message between the hours of 9am and 5pm, starting tomorrow.
Once you get your email, you’ll have the rest of the day to place and check out your order. Please wait for your message, as you won’t be able to access the priority queue at other times.
Please be aware that there is still high demand for slots, and you may not see full availability for all time slots. But, because we can now prioritise the customers we let on to the website, and each customer can only have one slot, you can be confident that there are enough slots – and groceries – to go around.
Our developers continue to work on a better solution which will allow us to manage this in a simpler way but, for now, this fix at least helps us to prioritise you in the short-term. It makes access fair, and helps to keep traffic to our website at manageable levels, ensuring you the best possible shopping experience in the circumstances.
Please note: our usually all-knowing Customer Service team can’t set-up or change this temporary process, so they won’t be able to tell you which group you are in, or when you will get your email.

Will be v glad to have a slot confirmed. I would have cancelled my Ocado subscription otherwise. As a customer who orders weekly and should also be screened, I was getting quite concerned what the next few months would be like.

Anyone had their priority access yet?

I can just had an email to say I can't edit my Sunday delivery. You can only cancel it. I 'ain't bovvered. I am happy with what s on it. I am an anytime smart pass holder and got the email saying I would be able to order in the next few days and to wait for an email before going online

No priority access email/text yet, but after joining the virtual queue at 2:30am, I finally managed to log in at 10:30am and book a slot for 20th April, as well as edit my upcoming order.

I got the email yesterday but nothing since. However I just opened up the web page and managed to edit my order for Monday straight away?!!

I get straight on through the link in my email. No queue but no delivery slots are ever available so not sure what the point is?!

Reading all this makes me quite cross. What's the point of giving us anytime pass holders a priority queue and then there are no slots? I got another email from Ocado today saying they have taken money for my smart pass!

I don't have a pass but I have got a slot booked for next week. I had an email confirming that. This was prior to the new system.

I can't log in, the queue is paused.

Does anyone know whether I will get my delivery?

Actually instead of clicking next 3 days I clicked in the calendar (doh) and a slot came up for 9th April.

So frustrating. I’m trying to get a slot for a sick relative. This delivery of food to the vulnerable thing BoJo talked about earlier in the week hasn’t materialised yet.

No. I don't mind not getting priority access, but l do mind everyone isn't being treated the same - excluding the shielded as they should be first in the queue.

When l managed to get on this morning after a 6 hour wait, l found my order had already closed. No email about that, either. And l went up to 17th April, no deliveries, so local shop it is after next week.

They had better not keep charging me...

I have got the email and got access to the site straight away. However no slots available. The booking delivery page only shows the next 3 days and no slots. The email says they will release the next 7 days. All a bit pointless without delivery slots.

I do have a delivery that I booked a while ago (I can no longer remember when!) for next Friday which I'm REALLY hoping will come though, but I suspect that may mean I can't book another slot for now (which I totally accept)

I couldn't get on for shop tomorrow so been unable to edit. I'm leaving it as it's got a few basic supplies and some vegan bits for my daughter.

I have sourced a local veg box that's also being delivered tomorrow which I'm very excited about and will look to try and source more locally now.

I got my email and after an initial error message, got on the site right away. Booked a delivery for 9th April - there were lots of slots available around 6th-11th (I'm in London).

It felt like doing a normal shop actually, everything I wanted was showing in stock too apart from two items. I also managed to edit my order on the 30th while I was there.

I am also in London. No slots came up at all. The calendar won't let me into April.

I checked the site and managed to get a slot in I think 10 days, only that day was available. About 20 minutes later they sent me an email saying I had priority access, so I just had a look out of interest and all slots were gone. I'm glad I checked earlier!

@lazymum99 It let me move forward 3 days at a time (past the period of time where there aren't any slots) - all the way until the 11th.

I click on next 3 days and it just says no slots and then I can't click on it again. Im getting fed up with this now.
