Ocado Anytime Smart Pass holders - have you received priority access yet?

Email sent to anytime pass holders (at least) on Thursday

-
We have experienced such extraordinary levels of demand in recent days that despite our best efforts, we simply have not had enough capacity to serve all our customers.
To put it into context, practically every Ocado customer, no matter how infrequently they may have shopped previously, is now looking to place an order every week. At the same time, with families at home, the average size of orders has almost doubled. This means there is an unceasing level of demand several times our current delivery capacity.
We’ve already taken decisive steps to manage this demand, closing our doors to new customers, and limiting customers to one delivery slot every seven days. However, despite these measures, we can see that not all Smart Pass customers have been able to book a delivery.
As an Anytime Smart Pass member, we consider you to be one of our best customers, so we’ve set up a temporary priority queue to enable you to book a delivery slot each week.
How you will get access:
We have divided all paying Anytime Smart Pass members who joined before 2020 into a number of equal-sized, randomised groups. You will be placed in one of these groups.
At spaced intervals, we will give each group access to the priority queue, enabling them to quickly get in and choose a slot for their weekly delivery. We will do this by sending each group an email and text message between the hours of 9am and 5pm, starting tomorrow.
Once you get your email, you’ll have the rest of the day to place and check out your order. Please wait for your message, as you won’t be able to access the priority queue at other times.
Please be aware that there is still high demand for slots, and you may not see full availability for all time slots. But, because we can now prioritise the customers we let on to the website, and each customer can only have one slot, you can be confident that there are enough slots – and groceries – to go around.
Our developers continue to work on a better solution which will allow us to manage this in a simpler way but, for now, this fix at least helps us to prioritise you in the short-term. It makes access fair, and helps to keep traffic to our website at manageable levels, ensuring you the best possible shopping experience in the circumstances.
Please note: our usually all-knowing Customer Service team can’t set-up or change this temporary process, so they won’t be able to tell you which group you are in, or when you will get your email.
Thank you for your continued understanding and patience. We all understand the huge responsibility placed on us, and we are working tirelessly to help feed the nation at this challenging time.
Your Ocado team

Will be v glad to have a slot confirmed. I would have cancelled my Ocado subscription otherwise. As a customer who orders weekly and should also be screened, I was getting quite concerned what the next few months would be like.

Anyone had their priority access yet?

Another customer who will cancel my Ocado pass after this unless they sort themselves out over the next week. Will switch to Waitrose as not interested in M&S.

Vegansarefriends · 29/03/2020 23:45

Still no slot for me, anytime pass holder.

Furball · 30/03/2020 07:45

So yesterday it said come back tomorrow.........

and today it says come back tomorrow..........

The quicker we can get into edit orders etc the better their stock forecast would be? Especially as someone upthread says they want to push back their order.

The blurb this morning says editing for orders mon/tues/weds, Surely Monday editing is toooo late anyway? .......so maybe by weds I can get in, and now I don't want to edit my order as I'd be scared to touch it under these circumstances as it could go poof at any moment.

It shouldn't really have to be a tombola of a thing, and only the select real few seem to be getting any sort of service from this.

If we had peace of mind from it we could leave their site alone rather than bombarding it all the time causing them more issue.

Milky77 · 30/03/2020 08:03

I can still access the site which is I guess something 🙄 I know we can only have one slot every 7 days which is more than I need but cancelling a slot should mean we are allowed to choose another within that week's time frame. At the moment computer says no!

I am SO sick of Ocado. My child is in the shielded/extremely vulnerable category. We’ve been instructed by government letter not to leave the house for 12 weeks and I’ve emailed this letter to them. I’ve chased it up twice. I’m a long standing weekly customer too (8-9 years). Like everyone else I’m getting those messages on the website and am losing patience.
Like another poster said I’m thinking of jumping ship to Waitrose after this as I’m neither interested in M&S (hmmm I wonder why that’s happening with ex M&S man Stuart Rose at Ocado now) or impressed with how they’re treating their loyal customers right now. Communication has been terrible.

Greenpoppins · 30/03/2020 08:54

@fedupfreda - I'm so sorry to hear this and if I'm finding it stressful I can only imagine how stressful it is when any shopping is risky. Especially disappointing as you are a long-term customer.

I managed to get a Prime Now slot for a friend who has a vulnerable child, I did have to keep checking back but they did come up.

Isitacoughorisitmyhead · 30/03/2020 08:57

I have a Smart Pass although not sure if it's midweek or anytime - would we have had the email by now? We've had it since last year

in vulnerable category and would really like to get online deliveries if poss

MarshaBradyo · 30/03/2020 08:58

Isit what does it say when you go on the site?
I didn’t receive the email but do have priority access and smart pass (£9.99 here can you see your email re payment)

Isitacoughorisitmyhead · 30/03/2020 09:26

It takes me straight through for a second (I can see my trolley) and then straight back to main page with message about no new slots

Mine was a special deal with some other provider (can't even remember which - Vodafone or something?) so I'm probably not so high priority but have been using it every week for months

Still I understand they need a cut off somewhere

Milky77 · 30/03/2020 10:03

Unfortunately we don't know when the last group of anytime emails will be sent.

Prime Now was not delivering to my area last week. It is now. No slots but at least it's delivering!

OP posts:
tangledyarn · 30/03/2020 10:14

No new slots available still. On the plus side my mums shopping is arriving today with only 1 item missing and a couple of totally reasonable subs.

newlabelwriter · 30/03/2020 10:29

Very frustrated, got in straight away this morning slots available, booked one and then loaded up trolley and then asked again to book a slot at which point they'd all gone again. Urghghghgh.

Megan2018 · 30/03/2020 10:39

Didn’t get a second email but had a slot for Friday already and got in this morning to edit it. Couldn’t book another (fair enough, just had a look).
If I get my order will be delighted (we are in isolation for another week).

fedupfrida · 30/03/2020 15:07

@Greenpoppins thank you, i appreciate your sentiments.

It's extra frustrating when I read on here that some people are getting priority access because they paid an extra few quid for smart pass?!

I just wish Ocado didn't have half the nation emailing them claiming to be vulnerable and that they could actually get on with prioritising people on the NHS 'shielded list'. I know that there are many many people right now who are vulnerable (including my parents, my In-laws and several friends) but there is a 'shielded group' for a reason.
Bah.... sorry to rant folks, I know we're all struggling with one thing or another right now.

Milky77 · 30/03/2020 16:39

Can't believe cancelling a slot locks me out from new orders 7 days either side. It never used to be a problem. FFS ocado

Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich · 30/03/2020 17:06

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I emailed them about my Mum who is disabled, alone, and 40 miles from me, explaining that I am disabled also and I would like 1 delivery a week, one week to her, one to me. I received a really sarcastic email saying ‘oh I see you have a slot booked, enjoy your shopping’. No reference to the fact I asked for help because of vulnerability.

Ocado Anytime Smart Pass holders - have you received priority access yet?
Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich · 30/03/2020 17:09

I have a shopping list written out, and spend many hours going from site to site. And I’ll tell you what I have noticed - Ocado has put up its prices A LOT. I’m seeing all the prices, and noticing them more now. Really Ocado?

NotGenerationAlpha · 30/03/2020 17:17

@Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich definitely. I don't have a price list but I know what I spend on groceries before. It's gone up a lot. Many of the bulk buy deals have gone too.

Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich · 30/03/2020 17:21

I managed to get into Ocado and another site and put items in a trolley, but not be able to book a slot. Virtually the same products, same brands. Ocado £105, Tesco £75 ASDA £70.

MarshaBradyo · 30/03/2020 17:25

Fred yes by a fair bit plus stuff like dishwasher tablets which I’ve never bought fp before.

Milky77 · 30/03/2020 20:00

Agree @Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich I said the same the other day. Opportunistic. Price rise started before covid but is continuing.

OP posts:
symbioticpatriot · 30/03/2020 20:45

A lot of special offers have been removed; this is common across all the supermarkets and not specific to ocado. It is supposedly to discourage hoarding and buying extra because it’s a good deal Hmm

Milky77 · 30/03/2020 22:44

😲😲 When there's limits on items anyhow
That pickle post annoyed me today. I'm off to Waitrose when my membership runs out!

OP posts:
RogueV · 30/03/2020 22:46

Not received my invitation for a slot yet.

But I can assure you Ocado are full of shit. My sil has just got on with a second email address (new customer) and it is letting her book any slot she wants!!

Alwaystwomagpies · 30/03/2020 22:50

I have a smart pass and must have deleted the email about priority so just went on the website now, clicked to say I have priority and bagged a delivery for Wednesday morning
Fan bloody tastic

Plenty of stock except for flour and whole chicken. And not many eggs but otherwise seemed ok
