I'll start! I've got some fresh daffodils in the living room which smell lovely. I have a little balcony, so I can have a bit of outdoors and sunshine. I've just made a whopping vat of soup!

What's helping you feel ok, so far, during the crisis?

I’m at home with a toddler and newborn; if things were normal I’d feel the pressure to be taking them out every day and look presentable, be on top of things, seeing people etc whereas with how things are I’m taking a much more relaxed approach to the day and my expectations are much lower

Spending time with my own children. They're being so sweet and happy that they make me forget what is going on.

I’ve got a new desk! And managed to book a delivery slot with ocado for tomorrow (no idea how this actually happened!) so ordered lots of chocolate Smile

Learning Welsh on Duolingo a little bit each day is helping me. Can't focus on much else.

Oh and my six year olds ridiculous SAT paper questions.

We are doing historical tests. To prepare her but No idea why after seeing Questions like this...

The xxxxx came out at night.

My DD put moon. It was wrong. The answer was mice. Who in the fuck would have got that right?! Hmm

I'm eating less as a natural consequence of not having tons of food at my fingertips all day. There are usually biscuits and donuts at work and lots of lovely places to go out and eat lunch. I'm not actually missing it and I'm saving a bit of money not eating out every day. I could stand to lose 1.5 stone so this is all for the good.

I'm drinking much less as well just because we don't get out to the shops more than every few days. I did, however, add gin to the low alcohol g&t drink that has been in the cupboard for months because we are out of tonic. Necessity is the mother of invention and all that.

Spent wfh lunch break re-discovering the hammock which has languished in the shed all winter. Looking up at a sky with no planes and being able to hear bird song.

My daughters guide troop have set up online sessions so the girls can get together still. I'm sitting here listening to my daughter laughing with friends while she works on her badge. I'm so grateful to the guide leaders

My husband is helping me so much.

I'm a few weeks away from giving birth, and struggling at times with so much uncertainty and fear. It's my first pregnancy but we have two children (also with SEN) already between us. He's balancing WFH with having them at home and a pregnant, tired and often anxious wife and doing a bloody amazing job. He's keeping me upright and doing it all with incredible love and kindness.

Will go through my stack of fitness dvds one by one then start on the You Tube fitness broadcasts.

My aim is to re-build my fitness until I can re-start couch to 5km in the future.

I mean one a day !

I just did the Jo Wicks PE class with my DS this morning and I feel great. I haven't done anything exercise-like for months and this is forcing me to get on with it.

Also, not having to sit at a desk for 8 hours every day means my chronically tight neck and shoulders are looser and no longer in pain. WFH for the win!

Eckhart · 25/03/2020 11:31

Fartlek I'm about to start a thread about whether lockdown is making us workout more. I'm going for a run every day (I usually run 3 or 4 times a week), to try to knacker my dog. I'm also finding myself doing extra sets with the weights, because... well, nothing else is pressing. No pun intended. We're all going to look like Olympians!

I would settle for looking less round @Eckhart! I have a vision of me walking back into the office in however long and all of them oohing and aahing at all the weight I've lost. Not that i'm doing it for external validation, but it certainly doesn't hurt!

CognativeDissonance · 25/03/2020 16:18

Seeing how well DD(8) has handled this. She's struggling a bit with not being able to see her Gran who provided childcare every day up until now and they're very close but other than that, she's been a superstar. Very proud of her!

ArkAtEee · 25/03/2020 16:19

My kid said, "I like this Mummy, we all have breakfast together" Smile

Eckhart · 25/03/2020 17:30

@Fartlek it's quite motivating, that!
