Why couldn't we have the torrential rain now, when we need to keep people indoors? Sod's bloody law the sun comes out now Sad

Hmhhm its spring.....

unmumsymumof2 · 22/03/2020 14:53

I completely agree! The rain would suit the mood!

I'm taking the sun as a good thing though. The grass has been cut and the kids have been able to go in the garden to mess around instead of being stuck inside!

ohmysoul · 22/03/2020 14:53

It's more cheerful when the sun is out, I think it couldn't have picked a better week.

Stabbitha · 22/03/2020 14:54

It may be spring but in this date in 2013 most of the country was under 2ft of snow

IWantToBreakFreee · 22/03/2020 14:56

I like the sun being out, makes a shit situation a tiny bit better. I'm sat in the garden enjoying the sun

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 22/03/2020 14:58

You’re allowed into your gardens (if you have them)

KingaRoo · 22/03/2020 14:59

I'm so grateful for the sunshine. Rain would make a difficult time seem more gloomy and miserable.

Fruitteatime · 22/03/2020 15:00

If you have gardens being the key point. Think of all those stuck in flats with kids. It's not normally a major issue as we can go to the park but not right now.

Yeafortwo · 22/03/2020 15:00

I know what you mean OP, just looking at Snowdonia, Cornwall, Scottish Highlands yesterday makes me want to weep. Torrential rain would have kept them all inside. That said, it will surely bring lockdown implementation quicker.

RhymingRabbit3 · 22/03/2020 15:01

I agree. It's too ttempting to go to the park, beach, woods etc.
I'm sure this is part of the reason why national trust gardens were absolutely rammed yesterday and now have had to close Angry

slipperywhensparticus · 22/03/2020 15:02

Doesnt sunshine kill germs? (Clutching a few straws here)

sonypony · 22/03/2020 15:02

I feel the opposite as my (small) kid will be able to go in the garden all week, which will be extremely helpful for me. Also helps my mood in this difficult time. I'm really hoping it doesn't get bad again.

Spamellahamella · 22/03/2020 15:03

Disagree. Vitamin D excellent for fighting off buga

cricketmum84 · 22/03/2020 15:04

Why though? Get out in your garden and get some vitamin D!

Rainbowunicat · 22/03/2020 15:04

We're lucky enough to have a garden so we've been sorting it out today so that the kids can play out. We've been isolated for a week already and the rain has made it worse.

I do get your point though, OP.

Wannabangbang · 22/03/2020 15:05

Im greatful but unfortunately the eejits of society are out frolicking where i live, my fb full of people mixing in groups and the streets are as busy as ever, teens on bikes in gangs. A disaster waiting to happen. Rain would be better to discourage mass gatherings outside

bellinisurge · 22/03/2020 15:06

Start veg gardening. Perfect weather. Snooze in the garden .

ErrolTheDragon · 22/03/2020 15:07

You're right, OP.

Sure, I'm enjoying the sunshine, but in terms of minimising or exacerbating the epidemic, when the history of this is written it will be seen as a tragedy that we had foul weather in February and lovely weather now when people should be going out only for essentials and local walks, not thronging to beaches and beauty spots. And that the start in Italy coincided with 'ski season' and the half term.

This may sound hyperbolic but many people's behaviour this weekend is liable to be disastrous.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 22/03/2020 15:07

On the contrary, we are safe, well, we have food, toilet roll and we can feel the warmth of the sun through the window. This is as good as life gets for now. I've got to see the positive today.

MoonlightMistletoe · 22/03/2020 15:08

I am glad the sun is shining it makes everything feel a little brighter, if it was raining I'd probably be crying !

thenightsky · 22/03/2020 15:10

My sister lives on the seafront in Brighton. She's staying in because her husband is in a vulnerable group and she's an asthma sufferer herself. She said the prom outside her flat is heaving with people.

Vitamin D is important but you don't have to go to the beach to get it. I'm not sure whether sunlight is sufficient yet at this time of year; making sure you have enough in your diet and/or a 10 microgram supplement (not larger doses) may be a better bet.

dollyknocker · 22/03/2020 15:11

I agree. If it was pissing down then people might just stay the fuck inside their homes instead of filling up the parks, seaside etc.

Frankiecandle · 22/03/2020 15:13

I'm loving feeling the warmth of the sun in the garden.

nellodee · 22/03/2020 15:13

I thought the same thing. I wonder how many more people will die because the sun shone this weekend. Sad
