Why couldn't we have the torrential rain now, when we need to keep people indoors? Sod's bloody law the sun comes out now Sad

There is hope that summer heat will stop the virus or at least reduce it...

So bring it on

Gilead · 22/03/2020 15:16

Whitby, yesterday.

For people's mental health it's a good thing but I agree that physically it could be a disaster.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 22/03/2020 15:21

Fucking loving the weather.

Am cooped in in a building with 5 young adults with special needs who need to burn off energy.

The garden has saved our arses the last few days.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/03/2020 15:23

Apart from the angle of the sun, people aren't going to be making a lot of vitamin D wearing coats and sometimes hats as in those Whitby photos.Confused

I sincerely hope so, but it's just a hope at this point. We can hope but not work on the assumption that this is definitely going to be the case.

AnotherEmma · 22/03/2020 15:26

YABVU
We all need fresh air and sunshine for our physical and mental health.
The problem is not the sunshine, it's the people heading out to crowded places!
We can still enjoy the sunshine from gardens and balconies, and go for walks as long as we keep our distance from others.
I think the sunshine has been a blessing this weekend. I've been feeling very down and emotional, and the sun has helped my mood.

EstuaryBird · 22/03/2020 15:31

I’d love to sit in my garden but we have a very strong (blown a fence panel out) cold wind...hope it eases off in the next day it two.

Escapetab · 22/03/2020 15:45

We're all sick so I'm just looking at it out of the window and thanking god for it, grey right now with all this stress would have been awful. I guess it is encouraging irresponsible behaviour though - not here though as far as I can see, my house over looks the main dog walking route in the village and I've seen far fewer people than usual and no-one congregating.

Apolloanddaphne · 22/03/2020 15:47

I am glad the sun is shining. I can potter in and out the garden and get washing dried and the dog can be out all day and will not need to be walked as much. The sun is such a mood lifter. Why would you want the weather to be bad?

sunshinemachine · 22/03/2020 15:49

im in a 2nd floor flat and dont have a garden. wish it was raining bcuz i want to go out into the sun but i know we cant

ErrolTheDragon · 22/03/2020 15:51

Why would you want the weather to be bad?

Because it would have stopped idiots from all over the place thronging to beaches and beauty spots, thus helping the geographic spread of the virus. It will have raised rather than flattening that curve.

I'd have loved this weather if everyone had been sensible, but that's not what's happened, is it?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 22/03/2020 15:55

This subject really does bring out the glass half full v the glass half empty people doesn't it?!
I'm glad the sun is out here, it makes staying in more pleasurable, can potter around outside in the garden or see the sun shining through the windows.
Automatically makes things more bright when the sun is shining.
Torrential rain and crap weather really will make everyone feel better, won't it. Not Hmm
As for keeping idiots in, idiots gonna idiot whatever the weather unfortunately.

The80sweregreat · 22/03/2020 15:56

My family are self isolating. It's not easy at all and i here my local seaside town is thronging with people.
Makes me want to weep. Family are working for the nhs to keep people alive with limited resources yet they are on a jolly down the front and some colleagues are in tomorrow to look after some of these children too.
I know it's hard but my old dad was called up at 17 to go and fight in WW2 and he managed it. I know this is a different thing but it's still deadly and could kill a key worker. It doesn't pick and choose.

WhentheDealGoesDown1 · 22/03/2020 16:16

Done loads in the garden and all my washing is dry, what's not to like.

FeelingCrap54 · 22/03/2020 16:28

Yep am very lucky to have a garden and I am feeling for families who are living in overcrowded properties Sad.

Devlesko · 22/03/2020 16:33

Survival of the fittest, or those who stay inside, let them get on with it.

dudsville · 22/03/2020 16:37

It's perfect timing for the sun! Parents with gardens get to let their children loose. I get to open my windows for fresh air. It's so cheering!

SpeedofaSloth · 22/03/2020 16:39

My kids have been out in the garden today, I am grateful for the sun.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 22/03/2020 16:43

Whilst I'm loving the sun if is the worst wekeend for it, because we've been cooped up all winter!!
