Dh says that this is still ok. Apparently he had read it somewhere. I think it's not ok but can't find anything saying that.

I’m seeing really awful sides of people during this whole worrying time.

The OP has been called thick, stupid, her dh has been called a fuckwit! She asked a question, no need to be so cutting and rude with some of your replies! Wow!

Oysterbabe · 21/03/2020 09:15

How do you know you won’t see anyone else? Is it one allotment on its own with no others?

Well obviously it's not impossible but it'd be unusual. The plot one side of mine is abandoned and the other is owned by an elderly lady who seems to go at different times to me the majority of the time. If we see her or anyone else it will be very easy to stay more than 2 metres away, it's about a 1 minute walk from my house.

Zacharyezrarawlings · 21/03/2020 09:17

and this is why we are fucked.

DoubleAction · 21/03/2020 09:18

No. Dr Harries said yesterday it's important to get kids outside for exercise still but only with members of the same household

Some people are being ridiculous though. An allotment distance apart in the outdoors must surely be fine?

nitgel · 21/03/2020 09:20

Agree marmalade

MummyPop00 · 21/03/2020 09:25

Agree Marmalade, absolutely no need for some of the overly aggressive responses. A simple but firm no is good enough.

I bet some of you will be an absolute joy to live in lockdown with for 12 weeks.

Can I walk round a big park (designed for walks) with my 2 sons today? Similar question I know

NathanNathan · 21/03/2020 09:29

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer specifically said this was not allowed yesterday!

When are people going to get it?? Children can go out with members of their household they are already interacting with. They, as well as everyone else MUST stay at least six feet away from anyone else.

LynetteScavo · 21/03/2020 09:29

Yes you can walk around a big park with your own children. It will be good for you mentally and physically.

Don't arrange to go with friends and if you meet people there don't get too close.

Plantpotpot · 21/03/2020 09:31

Thank you for replying and not calling me a fuckwit Smile

qazxc · 21/03/2020 09:34

No, not ok as the necessary social distancing will be impossible to enforce.
You can go out for a walk in the park as a family, provided you keep your distance from anyone else there and not use playground.

bobstersmum · 21/03/2020 09:37

It is the contact with OTHER MEMBERS OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD that is banned (so to speak)
Kids can NOT resist touching things, we took our dc for a walk late the other night, waited that long so that there would be no one around, specifically made them wear their gloves and told them DO Not touch anything, sadly our 6 year old is now going to be stuck in our house and garden for the next few months because he demonstrated that night that he cannot follow simple, very strict, important rules. Not taking any more chances with him!
