So teachers will decide GCSE and A level results?

That'll work then.

ClassicallyConditioned · 20/03/2020 15:51

They've already been submitted so bit late to bribe them now

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/03/2020 15:55

@ClassicallyConditioned

So all results (GCSE and A level) have already been submitted to the Government/Exam boards?
Where did you get that information from?

OP posts:
ClassicallyConditioned · 20/03/2020 16:13

Schools will have asked teachers to submit them by today before they go down to a skeleton staff next week

Drivemybluecar · 20/03/2020 16:26

Wow. They would have to have done that quickly. Even if they knew they were only going to shit the schools a few days ago?

IkeaSlave · 20/03/2020 16:27

Do you know that, @ClassicallyConditioned, or is it a guess?

I'd be surprised personally if it's been done already.

OutingMyself · 20/03/2020 16:29

I'm currently doing a GCSE English course, do I'd really appreciate a link to anything about that.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 20/03/2020 16:29

I would have failed so badly, my teachers hated me!

wheresmyliveship · 20/03/2020 16:30

That’s not true. It hasn’t been done.

Schools are on skeleton staff IN SCHOOL, but all teachers will be working. They’ll ask us once there’s some clarity on what they actually want from us.

Lordfrontpaw · 20/03/2020 16:30

That's a bit early isnt it?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/03/2020 16:31

I would be very surprised if our government had been this organised. Hence my query about the source of this information.

Any teachers here?

OP posts:
Redcrayons · 20/03/2020 16:31

Do you know that as a fact @ClassicallyConditioned?
The exam boards have only just announced how it will work. Up until Wednesday the teachers were still planning for online learning.

elephantoverthehill · 20/03/2020 16:32

I hope this isn't the case because I am still doing my NEA marking.

Isitactuallyme · 20/03/2020 16:32

I've got a year 11 and Year 13 group. No-one has asked me for a predicted grade.

Guiltyfeminist1 · 20/03/2020 16:34

Scotland here. Our predicted grades were due today so no point bribing me as I'm done. All information from prelims, casework, folios and professional judgement. They're to be verified by Senior management by next Friday and then that's it finalised from our end.

PheasantPlucker1 · 20/03/2020 16:34

Our school have been doing it today.

I cried. Every teacher I saw cried during the process.

GivenchyDahhling · 20/03/2020 16:34

@ClassicallyConditioned You are wrong and peddling misinformation.

(I’m an assistant head)

wonderstuff · 20/03/2020 16:34

They've said that students can take exams in September if they wish to. They are also looking at prior attainment alongside teacher assessment. What else could happen? Teachers are professionals, many are also exam assessors, they make accurate predictions about students every year. Our final results and predictions are rarely far off. The major issue will be if for some reason the teaching has been fragmented due to teachers leaving part way through a course, but of course examined classes take priority for staffing purposes.

Peninsula · 20/03/2020 16:34

Dd has been doing mocks this week. I hope not too late for them to be taken into account

Scruffyoak · 20/03/2020 16:36

No way have they already been done.

Oakmaiden · 20/03/2020 16:38

My daughter's GCSE music teacher told her they had been asked to send projected grades in for them this week. He told her on Wednesday (just after the official announcement) that they were already in.

wonderstuff · 20/03/2020 16:38

((hugs)) PheasantPlucker1 it's unbelievably shit - many tears at primary school pick up this afternoon. I'm not teaching year 11 this year so spared from this.

ClassicallyConditioned · 20/03/2020 16:38

I work in a school, we all did ours on Tuesday. This was instructed by the LEA. Other types of schools may have different procedures, but the vast majority of teachers will already have done theirs by now.

Oakmaiden · 20/03/2020 16:39

Wish I could edit - important to note that this is WJEC and Welsh exams, so may well be different to in England or Scotland.

Oakmaiden · 20/03/2020 16:40

@ClassicallyConditioned which exam board do you use?
