I’m an accountant in the NHS. My role has not changed yet but it would not surprise me if the whole financial year end process will be junked next week. We’re now in command and control mode so could be ordered to do things other than our normal job. Everyone in every team at work has been assigned to a red or blue team; only one colour will be in the office at any one time, in order to maximise the chance that support for the frontline will not be interrupted by infection. Almost everyone I know has volunteered to more directly support front line staff if called to. Please help us by stopping unnecessary social contact.

Solicitor. Still having to go into work for some things because the courts are taking a ridiculous ‘business as usual’ approach, but mostly from home now.

I work as a local authority planner. I have underlying medical conditions so im working from home. Not sure what's going to happen for site visits though.

I'm lucky enough to be able to work at home and get paid.

Marketing. I can easily do my job from home but I'll miss being in the office.

I work in billing and work from home mostly anyway...not much change for me apart from now we have the toddler in tow.
The other half works in IT (he tried to explain it once and I fell asleep) and also used to work from home a lot anyway too.
We are fortunate for now and muddling through.

HR for engineering firm & DH is an engineer.

Both able to work from home. I normally do 60% of the time anyway, so have a good set up with separate study, desk, proper office chair and second monitor.

DH has short end of the straw with either the kitchen table or coffee table when he needs to plug into the TV as a second screen.

Debt management officer for a Council. Only started this role in January & work 2 days a week so was still training but then DP got sent home from work Tuesday as he had a mild cough so we are isolating with 9 year old DS. So my first 2 days working from home with first solo phone shift this week. Muddled through. DP is a manual worker so can't work from home so he has kept DS busy while I took over the dining room with my screens!

Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager type role in Financial Services. I’ve been working in global teams for years so the day to day meetings etc are usually remote anyway. The main difference will be stakeholder / user meetings where seeing body language is really important, and as a PP said, how to make contact with someone who doesn’t want to talk to you right now.

Oh, and keeping up networks with people outside my immediate team. That’s going to be a challenge. I’ll have a think about that.

Part of an information and data analytics team for a tech company. Our offices have all been closed since Tuesday but WFH was normal in the company anyway.

Graphic Designer - I’ve worked from home 16 years, with teams in the US and India. Wfh is a really good solution, it saves wasted time commuting and is better for the environment and local economy. Is it really practical in 2020 to transport people about? Welcome new homeworkers, please make a good job of this!

Editor (publishing). Work from home one day a week anyway, so far it’s just been an extension of that with added awkward Microsoft Teams meetings.
