Just that really - interested in what others job roles are working from home?

Sole fundraiser and marketeer for a local charity. Challenging times indeed.

Software development. It’s easier to be at the same place as your team. However many companies in the industry manage to be complete remote. They have a slightly different way of doing meetings, which we rely on face to face. And also the ability to just walk over to someone’s desk and have a chat.

NotGenerationAlpha · 20/03/2020 19:08

It’s more that if you stand over someone at their desk, they can’t ignore you like an instant message. However it is considered rude if you interrupt someone unless really urgent. We always use Microsoft teams first for every thing.

Finance in a uni, surprised how many uni staff are wfh given how reluctant they were to let us at mine!

IceKitten · 20/03/2020 19:09

I'm a university lecturer and my uni has moved to online teaching only for the rest of this year.

DH works for an insurance company, his team were all working from home this week.

I have Asthma so am working exclusively from home. I’m a children’s social worker and our team of 8 has a few people with health conditions so we are all working from the home keeping on top of the admin side of things. The rest of our team is working on the frontline doing all the face to face work. They’re scanning their handwritten notes over to us for us to type up. We are doing virtual meetings etc also.

HR Manager. Husband is Solicitor. Both working from home 100% of the time now. Not loving it but feeling very grateful that we have jobs that can accommodate home working pretty easily.

NoraEphronsneck · 20/03/2020 19:46

PA for publisher, can do most of my work from home. A few software issues this week but once they're ironed out will be good to go.

Need a proper chair though or I'll be bent double by the end of it.

SciFiRules · 20/03/2020 19:48

.

TiddyTid · 20/03/2020 19:51

IFA. Not much different for me except cancelled all face to face meetings until further notice.

SaskiaRembrandt · 20/03/2020 19:56

I'm doing an admin/coordination role. That is not my usual job though.

Namelesswonder · 20/03/2020 19:59

NHS Researcher, office open but encouraged to work from home as much as possible

SaskiaRembrandt · 20/03/2020 20:00

NoraEphronsneck I feel for you about the chair. I need a better desk. Mine's actually a table, and it's the wrong height for long periods of use.

derxa · 20/03/2020 20:01

CorianderLord · 20/03/2020 20:19

Yes, lifestyle journalist

RaininSummer · 20/03/2020 20:22

PlatoAteMySnozcumber · 20/03/2020 20:26

Lawyer, trying to work from home with the children but it just isn’t possible to complete all my hours without risking a burn out. I hope work are sympathetic to the situation.

wejammin · 20/03/2020 20:27

Family solicitor. DH is personal injury solicitor. Can both work from home but also will have 3 young kids about. Could make video court hearings interesting.
Also my work has gone mad trying to sort out arrangements for contact with isolation, no contact centres, no school, no flights etc!

CatBatCat · 20/03/2020 20:29

Data and System Analysis. I've been wfh since I started the job 10 months ago.

MrsPnut · 20/03/2020 20:34

I’m a management accountant and at our company all non essential personnel have to work at home. There are a few people at each site that have to be there so having us at home means fewer germs for them.

CeliaCanth · 20/03/2020 20:37

In-house lawyer. WFH most of the time with a bit of travel to our offices so it’s not too much of a change.

Taxiparent · 20/03/2020 20:45

I’m a teacher for an online school, so working from home is the norm for me.
