Has anyone been confirmed positive?

Hi, name changed. Has anyone out there been confirmed as positive who can shed light on my symptoms? Frustrating not knowing - how will I know if the next cough is safe or not? So many symptoms, feel poorly, but all they talk about is a cough and temp. Thanks.

I'm off work and my family are self isolating.

Fri afternoon- Sore chest and base of throat. Dry cough. Temp OK.

Weekend- Tight chest, temp OK. Dry cough. Business as normal.

Monday- over an hour or so- dizzy head, shooting pains in limbs, tight painful chest, dry cough, fatigued, raised temp (high 37s)

Tues- Shallow breathing, racing heart, temp mid-high 37s. Cough looser, blood taste (no blood).

Today- Pain and aches in every bone in my body. Stuffy nostril (just the one).

Whatever it is, it's nasty. Does it sound like it to you?

Thanks.

Yes, while we're about it can we also get rid of the bullshit about influenza and the £50 note!!!

I have had pneumonia once and pleurisy twice: while all three laid me low for over a month and at times had me delirious and whimpering in pain, there were certainly times when I would have been able to pick something up from the floor had it been important. There were times when I read a book because I was bored and frightened and needed relief from the pain and the fear of nightmares. Didn't make the illness any less serious.

When my daughter was hallucinating from a kidney infection she practised the British sign language (because apparently the evil voices in her head couldn't understand that...)

The severity of an illness cannot be gauged by people's behaviour.

Am currently self-isolating due to definite flu symptoms. Do some typing, plenty of sleeping and some mindless television. Intend to keep others safe and look after myself.

Of course it is good news that most people seem to get over it lightly. But everybody with any symptoms should regard themselves as in quarantine and look after themselves extra carefully.

As I just posted on anohter thread, symptoms vary a lot between people it would appear

serialtester · 18/03/2020 10:37

OP - I've had EXACTLY the same symptoms. Am SI currently.

PurpleTigerLove · 18/03/2020 11:18

My apologies. I did honestly think it was like a bad flu . I didn’t realise you could have it and not have any symptoms, a carrier without symptoms yes but not a sufferer .
Perhaps mn could delete my daft comment .

BodiesMakeForGoodFertiliser · 18/03/2020 11:35

Kudos to you for apologising @Purpletigers but still. Remember that even with flu the 50 pound note doesn't apply in lots of cases. It's very frustrating comment in any case.

PurpleTigerLove · 18/03/2020 11:38

I shall refrain from using that as an example in future .

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 18/03/2020 11:44

You derailed the thread @Purpletigers!!!! 😂😂

isitorisntit · 18/03/2020 21:51

@serialtester how are you today? We are SI. My entire chest back is really sore, like u need to stretch and crack all my bones iykwim? Chest so sore, can't push/pull myself up and wearing a bra is a no no as it feels like it's crushing me.

@isitorisntit feel pretty rough. My lungs actually hurt and I feel like I've been run over by a bus! I'm pretty sure it's CV and not a normal winter cold.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 18/03/2020 22:07

There is no doubt that some people are naturally immune.

What is mild, we think means we can carry on as normal.

What a health care professional says is mild is a different matter. They are thinking more along the lines of 'you will recover '.
