We have just had a family meeting and made the decision, the children will be kept off from tomorrow

Youngest has a chesty cough so wouldn’t be going in anyway but the other two will also be off for the foreseeable future (two primary and one secondary)

We live in an area where parents and grandparents are older, I have 0 confidence that BOJO, government informants or any scientist in the world really knows how this new virus works and I’m scared!

I read today that the reason behind lots of parents stopping doing what they though was right for their children was fear of judgment, doing the wrong thing, or more importantly doing (for you) the right thing.

I just wanted to share, that we are standing up and doing what feel right for us, do what’s right for you.

fishandsnails · 15/03/2020 23:10

dozywozy · 15/03/2020 23:21

I for one can now breathe a sigh of relief

RB68 · 15/03/2020 23:33

well we had one and DD off to school tomorrow for now

bloated1977 · 15/03/2020 23:35

Can you work from home then?

MacronsPENswiper · 15/03/2020 23:37

Same op, I just can't risk it..
I lost confidence in government. I don't feel dc are safe at school.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 15/03/2020 23:38

Schools are closed here so we don’t even have a choice. Which makes it easier in some ways of course.

Is there any need for the piss taking of the OP? I'm getting really sick of other people's bad attitude to their fellow human beings.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 15/03/2020 23:44

We have just had a family meeting
I bet I know which way the kids voted Wink

blinkowl · 15/03/2020 23:45

We're just discussing it now. Not sure what we're going to do.

But if one of mine had a cough, I'd definitely keep them off.

dozywozy · 15/03/2020 23:45

A family meeting 🙄. These threads are great.

Namechangewhy · 15/03/2020 23:49

Why are people being such piss takers? Like you @dreamm I’m sick of reading some of the snipey comments (over the past few days in particular)

Theyrecomingtotakemeawayhaha · 15/03/2020 23:50

Me and my DD had a family meeting, she will go to college this week and I will go to work at the hospital.
Ration,we are both healthy ATM with only 4 cases in the county.I am more at risk than she is.
We will review if I have 1:1 contact without ppe or either if us have symptoms.

Designerenvy · 15/03/2020 23:51

Schools are closed her, lucky I dont have that decision to make .
I feel I would be keeping mine hine at this anyway , if schools were open here.
Can't understand why people are being so rude to OP.

dozywozy · 15/03/2020 23:56

because it's very dramatic....

Asterisktheknackered · 15/03/2020 23:57

Be kind went well Grin

blinkowl · 15/03/2020 23:57

Some people are arseholes. They're probably shitting themselves about coronavirus but they're none too bright and the only thing they know how to do is take the piss out of other people, so they're doing that to feel a bit of power as otherwise they feel totally powerless.

School playground level.

Pathetic really.

whodunit3 · 15/03/2020 23:59

Yes we had a family meeting, we have kids aged 9-14 we aren’t going to haul kids out school without talking to them, would you?!

And yes I am a SAHP and I’m fucking glad and grateful that I have the choice to do my bit,

I’m not concerned about my kids but I absolutely feel as a SAHP at we could make a difference from the local spread of CV, especially to the elderly or vulnerable.

Really @dozywozy, I dont think OP is being dramatic but I think you are being rude .

It could be worse, you could be quarantined with them. Can you imagine what their families are going to have to put up with, being stuck indoors with them.

Worriedmom2020 · 16/03/2020 00:00

Wow, some pricks on here! I think you're on the wrong board, AIBU is over there -->
