I think you have to be 2 meters away from people and must stiffle coughs and sneezed with your elbow.
I have never managed to sneeze into my elbow so am going with the old fashioned tissue up my sleeve.
If I get this in warm weather when I am recouperating and awaiting a negative test I will sit outside,my back to the garden fence sipping my wine!

I can quite understand the need to keep yourself apart from other members of the family (and pets - sadly!) but what happens when you need to make yourself some food?

Self isolate really only means stay indoors.
It doesn’t mean that. The guidance is clear. You are meant to separate yourself in one room, away from family or housemates, preferably with your own bathroom. If that is not possible, there needs to be a rota for the bathroom, with the sick person using it last and disinfecting it after use. Food, where possible, should be brought to the sick person.
