Yes, so long as you don't go near anyone next door.

purpleme12 · 07/03/2020 22:14

People have pets in the garden that need feeding so people have to

Vintage2020 · 07/03/2020 22:18

No, if your caught in the garden you could get arrested Grin

Rainbowunicat · 07/03/2020 22:20

I was wondering about this. At least we could get some exercise on the trampoline!

WhereverIMayRoam · 07/03/2020 22:22

I really think gonoiting should only every happen behind closed doors Wink.

fallfallfall · 07/03/2020 22:28

i guess the answer is it depends; if your sick with the virus, fever cough sputtering etc. no your suppose to stay in one room, although an open window for change of air is recommended with access to a bathroom (somehow the bathroom is to be disinfected daily) garbage from the room double bagged, food brought to you. NO PETS IN THE ROOM.
if you've been in contact with someone who is sick with the virus, and your hanging about for 14 days waiting to see if you catch anything, then fine to be in your yard, have groceries delivered and do all you can to avoid contact with people till your cleared. still no pets.
if you have an underlying condition and want to prevent getting ill than you can probably do small adventures into group areas and outings just washing well and being vigilant.
i believe all this is on the WHO web site.

purpleme12 · 07/03/2020 22:29

No pets??

BIWI · 07/03/2020 22:29

I never gonoit in my garden Shock

daisypond · 07/03/2020 22:31

You’re meant to keep separate from other people in your household too to stop them getting it. If you’ve all got it, you might as well mingle.

purpleme12 · 07/03/2020 22:33

What about all the single parents with child

delilabell · 07/03/2020 22:35

What is people's problems with gonoit-ing? I find it very nice. 😂
What am I supposed to do with my cat?
I understand now why people are stockpiling. That's answered another of my questions!

Exactly the pets need looking after

PrettyLittleLiar20 · 07/03/2020 22:38

You do not have to stay away from your pets. I’ve watched This Morning all week and can’t tell you how many times the DR on there said that your pets won’t get this virus.

purpleme12 · 07/03/2020 22:38

Thank God for that

BIWI · 07/03/2020 22:38

I don't mind isolating myself from DH or DC2 (who still lives at home) but not my cats?! Shock. That would be real deprivation.

purpleme12 · 07/03/2020 22:40

My child and my pets keep me going

HarrietSchulenberg · 07/03/2020 22:41

I'd be stuffed if I have to self isolate as my poor dog needs 2 bloody good walks every day to avoid going nuts. 14 days with no walks would finish us off.
We'd have to be noctornal and slink out under cover of deepest night. I suspect we wouldn't be alone.

Branster · 07/03/2020 22:54

The pet won’t get the virus but if you Are a carrier and touch it without thoroughly washing your hand or if you kiss the pet, there’s a high risk of transmitting the virus onto the pet. The virus may survive on the surface of the pet for up to 48-72h. That’s what I make of it anyway. Not sure if you have to wait another 14 days.

FoxRedBitch · 07/03/2020 22:56

We live rurally and as long as I was well I would dog walk but stay away from anyone I see.

megletthesecond · 07/03/2020 23:02

I could go for a walk and not pass anyone. Everyone else in our town is glued to their cars.

Kateplaysrugbyinmydreams · 07/03/2020 23:05

Of course you can garden. And personally I'm planning on bike riding too. Will be two meters away from people.

daisypond · 07/03/2020 23:08

In China your doors are taped up, so they know if you’ve broken the rules. You cannot go outside.

EnidBlyton · 07/03/2020 23:11

but the chinese state is totally different

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 07/03/2020 23:11

Self isolate really only means stay indoors. I simply can't see how you can isolate from family members living in the same house as you, especially single parents. And yes, i'll walk my dog too, but stay away from other people and go out at really quiet times.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 07/03/2020 23:13

How do other people in the house come and go then?
