Any positives that might come out of this?

So, I think going through Covid 19 in the UK is going to suck a bit, but some positives might emerge.

  • Individuals and governments might learn to better prepare for difficult situations and supply chain disruption (or not to panic as much about it, depending on what happens!)
  • Employers who were resistant to home working and video conferencing (rather than travelling to meetings) might get more at home with it, saving lots of travel expense and carbon emissions
  • Partners and kids might realise just how much mum does when she's shut up in a room for two weeks and can't do washing up, laundry, errands etc and will have to damn well step up, which also might relieve mums afterwards from 'Oh God, I'll just do it myself' syndrome.

Any other ideas - serious or silly!

This has brought out some truly kind people. I visited a supermarket this morning to get toilet paper as my family is running very low. I knew I had to go very early or I’d have no chance of scoring a roll, but even by 7.45am the shelves were bare. I use a walking stick, and I as I was limping back out of the shop, I was stopped by a customer service rep asking if I was looking for TP. If so, she had a couple of free rolls stashed away. She rushed off to get them and I left with two free rolls. How lovely is that?

@Devlesko - I'll bear that in mind! Grin

The WHO organisation and governments of other countries put pressure on the Chinese government to produce substantial animal welfare and rights legislation and to make it illegal to poach/trap/smuggle/skin alive/boil alive/electrocute and eat endangered species, stray cats and dogs and wild animals.

We are Romany, with ancestors used to having to cope, Rabbit Stew was also a favourite growing up. I can't touch it now.

Sadly, it won't change the habits of those who can make a Swiss roll, an iceberg lettuce and the daily express take up the entire belt.

This really made me smile. So succinctly put. 😆
