Thats not quite what the article says does it. They aren’t being moved because they are muslim it’s because they are shiite and present a security threat inside occupied areas. Plus don’t worry, Hezbollah is now threatening the Christian’s and Druze despite it being a directive from Israel so it appears they provide a security threat to non shiite Lebanese as well. Hezbollah are also threatening civil war if anyone tries to disarm them. There is a reason the rest of Lebanon is sick to death of Hezbollah. Most of it’s supporters don’t seem to even live in Lebanon. This isn’t some sort of religiously motivated hate move its a pragmatic military decision.
The article specifically says that last time people were welcomed in and this time not so much. There were multiple problems last time with hezbollah affiliated people taking over apartments, not paying rent and threatening people. Despite this most communities in Lebanon have been welcoming to displaced people (a testament to the generosity of Lebanese imo).
This is what happens when you let an Iranian proxy take over your country. The government seems unable to disarm them despite 79% of Lebanese believing only the armed forces should have arms (not militia groups).
The solution is Hezbollah turns its weapons over to the actual government of Lebanon and stops firing into Israel. They should have abided by the ceasefire agreement and prioritised Lebanon over Iran.
And before some fool starts banging on about greater Israel, Israel occupied southern lebanon for 20 years, (don’t get too excited about that, Syria occupied it for 30) and there are no Israeli settlements. Ditto the Sinai. They could have completely annexed it at any point and they haven’t. Egypt and Jordan both have peace treaties with Israel, there is no conflict there, they also have trading partnerships with both countries, gas and water.
