US bombs Iran’s vital Kharg Island

Donald Trump has said that the United States has “totally obliterated” military targets on Iran’s vital Kharg Island.

Kharg Island, located about 17 miles off the northwest coast of Iran, is the backbone of the country’s oil industry, handling approximately 90 per cent of its crude exports.

Commonly known among Iranians as the “Forbidden Island”, Kharg is shrouded in secrecy and heavily guarded by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). It is widely regarded as Iran’s most sensitive economic asset.

Mr Trump threatened to target the island’s oil infrastructure if the Iranian regime continues to “interfere” with ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz nearby.

“The United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island,” he wrote on Truth Social.

“I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island. However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider.”

Experts have warned that bombing Kharg Island’s oil facilities could push surging prices even higher, as it would effectively remove the entirety of Iran’s crude exports from the market.

Yet, the people in Iran have been on the street daily since the 28th February, through bombing supporting this oppressive brutal force. Trump tried to claim it was AI but there are 100s of videos and even the NYT confirmed that the crowds on the day younger Khamenei was announced were real.

Kent knows who was killed after the assassination of Solemaini. Kent knows about the nearly 180 Iraqi pilots that Iran hunted down and killed following the Iraq/Iran war.

Kent knows the true state of the Air Defence/Bases in the region. Kent knows the intelligence that was presented as justification and who presented it.

No I don't respect Netanyahu much as a person and certainly not when he uses exaggeration or indulges in conspiracy theories. I think Israel would benefit from a more moderate leader in future.

What I do respect in him though is the way that he holds Israeli citizens in such high regard that he will do anything to protect them and every one is precious to him, even the dead.

Never heard anything about it before. Not mainstream anyway. I cannot work out why these stories don't get discussed. Is it because the Internet was shutdown in Iran so stories couldn't come out like they did in Gaza. It's like the murdered protesters didn't even happen. The Iranian regime is very good at keeping things they do away from the eyes and ears of the masses in the west

Let them get on with killing their people by the thousands. Nothing to see there. Ignore it. It feels like many might like that option. I guess that is basically what happens with stories from the Sudan, pretty much ignored, shrug, nothing anyone can do about it. Move on.

I think this would last. We can’t see much of it for a start and if it’s not on SM it doesn’t get talked about. Not on here nor by celebs in Hollywood.

Not one of the main objectives listed by the US but it is hoped that weakening the regime will help the people of Iran to overthrow their own government one day.

The objective appears milti faceted.

The regime won't go by itself. It controls the army, the weapons, everything. If sufficiently weakened and the men at the top are removed, just maybe the people can find a better way.
